The final two chefs are whipping up their top dishes and showcasing their best culinary skills on tonight’s episode of Top Chef: Texas. Airing on Bravo, the series wraps up with the judges selecting the winner. Things are intense in the kitchen and the heat is on as finalists Sarah Grueneberg and Paul Qui duke it out until the end. The final two contending chefs have sharpened their knives and are bringing their best to the table. The last-standing chefs include: Sarah Grueneberg and Paul Qui. Both are vying for a feature in Food & Wine magazine, a showcase at the Aspen Food and Wine Classic, $125,000 and the title of ‘Top Chef.’
Tonight the chef’s along with a few former competitors will prepare a multi-part meal for the guests and judges. Sarah and Paul must decide on the items they would like to serve before heading to the store to make their purchases.
In the kitchen Paul and Sarah are scrambling to oversee that their dishes are made to perfection. Both finalists want the coveted role of Top Chef and are doing everything in their power to win it.
It’s now time for the competing chefs to begin service in their restaurants. The families of both Paul and Sarah make surprise visits much to the delight of the finalists.
During the judges table, host Padma Lakshmi along with judges Tom Colicchio, Gail Simmons, Hugh Acheson and Emeril Lagasse discuss the meals. Head judge Tom Colicchio tells Sarah and Paul that their dishes were the best in Top Chef history!
Paul wants to win Top Chef to make his parents proud and Sarah wants to win for her mother who was a single mom and encouraged Sarah to be an independent woman.
The judges deliberate and all agree that selecting the winner is not easy because both chefs created amazing meals. After specific criteria is carefully reviewed, Paul Qui is chosen and the winner and is this season’s Top Chef!
