American Idol: Could This Be The Season For The Ladies?

March 01, 2012 12:00 PM by Lisa Princ

This week on FOX‘s American Idol,  the guys did an incredible job with their performances, but then the girls performed, leaving us feeling blown away. With the ladies’ night having more overall viewers, could this finally be the year that the ladies break the spell of male winners? Read on for more…

Last night on American Idol, the girls took the stage with some pretty tough shoes to fill, as the men were awesome the night before. Surprisingly, there were quite a few of the girls who blew us away and were deemed by Randy Jackson as “a force to be reckoned with.” Could this be the year that the ladies finally break their non-winning streak?

According to the ratings for the week, the ladies drew in more total viewers than the men did, but the guys drew in more of the younger crowd. American Idol won both nights as the top rated show, so it was a win-win situation for them, but does this mean the girls could be on the right path to having a bigger voting fan base this season?

Sound off below! We want to know who has the upper hand this season: the guys or the gals? We think the girls may finally have a shot at winning, do you? Who did you vote for last night? Tonight, the results will be revealed, but according to Fox, they are going to go straight into the top 12 tonight. Tune in to see if your favorite makes it through!

The girls were almost a complete snoozefest. Seriously, how could anyone have been “Blown away” by that? I had to turn my sound down twice to avoid having a song RUINED for me…and by the end I didn’t even care what the judges said, I was just bored. The guys have a lot more range, and are much more entertaining. I hope it’s an 8 guy five girl ending tonight, and I wish Idol would just quit with the gender equality thing altogether.

I sincerely doubt it – I couldn’t even listen to any of them on this show. The guys have it hands down if it’s based on talent (which we know it isn’t) Needs a little work but Colton is winning out for me so far. Not sure who’s coaching this year but so far really bad choices.
