Bristol Palin Scores New Reality Show On Lifetime

March 01, 2012 09:00 AM by Lisa Princ

Bristol Palin was one of the most controversial contestants on ABC‘s Dancing With The Stars during the show’s eleventh season. Despite the amount of angry viewers, and even death threats, Bristol Palin must have scored some fans because Lifetime is giving her a new reality show! Read on for more…

Love or hate her, one thing is certain: Bristol Palin obviously has a fan base! The former Dancing With The Stars contestant has been given a new gig by Lifetime. Lifetime revealed yesterday that the new show, Bristol Palin: Life’s a Tripp will air 10 half hour episodes and will offer a look into the life of the 21-year-old mother as she raises her 3-year-old son. The network revealed that the show will also focus on her relationship with her parents, along with her siblings.

Rob Sharenow, executive vice president of programming for Lifetime Networks stated in a press release: “From the first moment she was thrust into the public eye, Bristol and her son have been the subjects of a huge amount of curiosity and misunderstanding. This show will reveal the real Bristol Palin and her journey as a daughter, mother and a young woman making her way in the world.”

Bristol Palin’s new series is currently in production and will air later this year. According to reps for Levi Johnston, Palin’s on-again-off-again boyfriend and father of her son, Levi is unsure yet whether or not he will participate in the series.

I think that the biggest statement about this article is the sentence “Despite the amount of angry viewers, and “Despite the amount of angry viewers, and even death threats “. It really is stupid to hate and make death threats at a child of someone that is in politics.
Are you kidding me????? How idiotic can people be?

Yes, I will watch. Bristol did not do anything to make anyone hate her, she just tried her best in the dance competition. I’m sure the liberal haters will come out again and for what reason?

Could be an interesting program, if it shows how hard it is to be an unwed mother, mixed with some of the joys of having a child
As for Levi, I think we all know that if he had the chance, he will be front and center if a camera is there,
I think she may be a lot better off, not letting him get into the picture

This is a shame….show-casing a high school girl who had sex with her high school boy friend, got pregant, had the baby, wouldn’t marry the baby’s father (whom she refers to as a gnat) and is getting rich for sharing her so-called life (calling it a “tripp”) with a salavating public. Not much of an example for young womanhood. Show biz executives will do anything to make a buck and they know that the public loves trash. Said public should be happy this time.

Another moron having a ‘fan base’ (really???) because of a narcissistic parent and the ability to breed. Out of wedlock. As a teenager. Let’s all celebrate her choices/lack of self-contrl and her ‘celebrity’ by NOT watching. I know I never will.

Bristol is just another Kardashian–famous for what? Having a baby as an unwed teen with a peculiar mother, or making a sex tape go public and having a peculiar mother–what are we celebrating? Young girls who view Bristol or the Kardashian clan as role models will not have the advantage of making millions of dollars based on their indiscretions.

I used to like to watch Lifetime. Not any more, I don’t want to see an unwed mother raise her baby, and make money for it. So every young girl that has a child out of wed lock should be on tv. Get real. Tell Sarah to give her some money. Sarah made millions by being stupid. Heaven help us!

BIO channel tried a reality show…. they canceled if before it aired because she came across as uninteresting and unlikeable.

Lifetime, there are literally hundred former project runway contestants you can follow around that are more interesting (and without contraversy) that bristol has….

I will not be watching. Would the network feature a african american teen, having babies out of wedlock. I doubt it. Why show a program on motherhood with an inexperienced stupid teen, who has no real experience to teach anybody nothing.

I am saddend to hear about such hateful speach directed towards Bristol Palin. I don’t know why the media doesn’t make an issue of such utter intolerence toward a fellow American. It seems like the liberals like to get puffed up and get on their high horse and talk about tolerence as long as it suits them, then their true colors come out when they don’t like someone or something. If the shoe was on the other foot we would be hearing all about the mean spirited, intolerent right wingers, but I don’t recall hearing a thing about all the anger and death threats directed towards Bristol Palin-interesting… And yes I will be watching to see what a wonderful mother she is becoming.

  34. Alesia Says:

I really don’t think you have to be a liberal to dislike this show. I’m actually tired of people becoming famous for something stupid like getting pregnant as an unwed teen. That a real crappy lesson for all these teenage girls to follow. I guess she got turned down for Teen Mom 2, since she 21 now. LOL. And no, I will not be watching I’d rather watch paint dry.

I agree with most of the previous posts here. If it were not for Sarah Palin being on a Republican ticket a few years ago, we would not be following Bristol or her family. They all need to go back to Alaska and live in peace with the money they have eeked out of us on news shows, Dancing, etc, etc.

  36. Liz Says:

Can I get a split of the money? How long has she been back in Alaska? She had a home in Arizona that she got a “deal” on. And just a side note, does the picture in this article look retouched?

The only way to stop further stupid shows like this is to vote with your remote. If Lifetime loses enough viewers because of this, they will regret this dumb decision. Stop watching Lifetime, boycott, vote with your remote. Lifetime can hang out with the Palins all they want but without me, my family, my friends. I hope you will join in this boycott.

  39. Sherri Says:

I probably won’t watch, only because the subject matter just doesn’t interest me. There’s nothing political or hate-filled about my decision. I do wish her good luck, though, with the new show.

People saying the Palins should go away, this is a free country, if they want to be in the spotlight, they have every right too. Look at the Kardashians and how long they have been on tv and in the spotlight, and at least with Sarah Palin, she had history, with her being the first Republican woman and second woman in American history to be on a major national party ticket.

Her Mother has the IQ of a potato wedge…attended like what 6 jr. colleges before obtaining her degree?..Sarah Palin snorted coke …was Glen Rice’s sex toy and got made a fool of during the last election. Bristols claim to fame is she had un protected sex & birthed a special needs kid. this wing nuts daughter is getting rants and raves from so called conservatives even though she is a prime example of everything they pretend to be ‘against’ (other that being white that is) GOD BLESS AMERICA

No one gave me a reality show for having a child at 17 and out of wedlock. Gimme a break.

The best thing she can do instead of highlighting irresponsibility is finish her formal education in a timely manner (unlike her mother)raise her child to be good, productive citizen. There is enough meaningless foolishness on TV without her adding hers to the lineup.

Time to contact Lifetime and let them know that you’ll be in touch with their sponsors of this “show”. If they get any sponsors that is. Bristol is full of pure made-up nonsense. Will she be teaching Tripp to hate on Sasha and Malia and gays also, too?

I saw the commercial for Bristol’s show while watching the season 3 debut of Dance Moms tonight. I was an enthusiastic viewer of DM, but I just switched the channel after that. Suddenly I don’t want to watch anything on Lifetime. Bristol is a vicious homophobe and Lifetime wouldn’t have even dreamed of a giving a show to an unrepentant racist (although I’m sure she’s that as well.) Dance Moms was just junk food anyway, easy to give up. So long Lifetime.
