Paula Deen A Racist? Shocking Allegations Made In Ex-Employee’s Lawsuit

March 06, 2012 08:53 AM by Shayla Perry

Things are heating up as more information about the shocking lawsuit against Food Network star Paula Deen and her brother, Bubba Hiers, is released. Now it’s being reported that the celebrity chef’s former employee is not only suing the sweet talkin’ Southern belle for sexual harassment, but she also claims that Deen, who’ll be featured this season on NBC‘s Who Do You Think You Are?, is also a racist. All the details, after the jump.

In addition to her claims of sexual harassment at the workplace, Lisa Jackson, former General Manager at Uncle Bubba’s alleges that both Paula Dean and her brother, Bubba Hiers, made several racist comments in her presence, and in the presence of the restaurant’s African-American employees, who Jackson claims were forced to use a separate restroom located in the back of the establishment.

According to her suit, Jackson states that while making arrangements for the catering staff at Bubba’s 2007 nuptials, she asked Deen what the servers should wear, to which Deen allegedly responded:

“Well what I would really like is a bunch of little n***ers to wear long-sleeve white shirts, black shorts and black bow ties, you know in the Shirley Temple days, they used to tap dance around. Now, that would be a true Southern wedding wouldn’t it? But we can’t do that because the media would be on me about that.”

Another shocking allegation included in the lawsuit against Paula Deen and her brother states that the Food Network star also made disparaging remarks against women in a meeting after the Savannah establishment’s previous manager had been fired for having sexual relations with the servers.

“If you think I have worked this hard to lose everything because of a piece of p***y, you better think again,” Deen allegedly said, before adding, “And now I’m going to do something I have never done. I am going to put a woman in a man’s job.”

Lisa Jackson is seeking unspecified damages in the suit.

Tell us RTVM, do you believe the allegations made against Paula Deen? Will these claims of racism and misogyny have an impact on whether or not you watch her shows, buy her products, or eat at her restaurants? Sound off in the Comments section below.

This is just another disappointment I have with this celebrity, who should be reined in by Food Network by now.
As much as I always liked Paula Deen’s shows, I also felt that there was a hypocrisy involved. How can a fat woman promote such fattening cooking and get away with it? well, actually she didn’t. She got Type II diabetes. So what does she do? Promote diabetes medications!
This, plus her good-old-southern racial slurs should eliminate her from TV and other forms of enrichment.

  3. CB Says:
    March 6th, 2012 at 9:28 am

Of course it’s true! This is no surprise at all considering where she grew up and lives. I’ll never be around her restaurants so that’s an irrelevant question.

  4. lynn Says:

I dont believe the allegations, and even if they are true, shes entitled to feel how she feels as long as she isnt abusing anyone. There are a LOT of racist people both black and white.

Why is it that we only hear about this kind of crap AFTER the one filing a lawsuit, leaves their job? If she were sexually harrassed, why didnt she do something about it at the time?

It is 2012 and these things started happening in 2007? Please…

I will continue to watch Paula Deen, and this ridiculous suit will have no bearing on my purchases, or anything else related to Paula Deen.

Yes I DO BELIEVE SHE said it and I won’t be eating/watching her nomore she is racist and I won’t support her!!

I hope to god Paula is not like this at all and it is just someone trying to get back at her for
getting fired. If Paula is like this well then, I will no longer be watching her because I don’t believe in people be so hateful. This is why this world is like it is because of people being so racist and spiteful and hateful.

  7. FM Morgan Says:

I doubt a woman who was smart enough to reach her level of success was ever like the person described. It’s easy to accuse someone of anything. All this won’t change my mind about Paula unless the accuser really has some kind of proof. If she is proven guilty, than I wouldn’t watch her or buy her products again.

  8. BJ Says:
    March 6th, 2012 at 9:42 am

Ms. Deen apparently IS a racist and deserves what she gets. Maybe she ought to “tap dance” her chubby butt around on TV and lose some weight! “Stupid is as stupid does” a good friend of mine once said…OK, he wasn’t a friend…but Mr. Gump sure had alot of “deep” things to say all things considered. Go Forrest. Buh-bye Paula Deen.

  12. Rose Taylor Says:
    March 6th, 2012 at 9:55 am

I will absolutely no longer watch her show and would never go to any of her restaurants. It is very disappointing that, in 2012, someone who has had extensive involvement with all races and nationalities could still be a narrow minded, openly practicing bigot! I will certainly be interested in the trial or settlement, but doubt very much that these charges would be baseless. Go away Paula, along with your entire family! The progressive world does need your kind. We’ve made you wealthy enough. What a phoney!

  13. Don Morgan Says:

This is no more or less than a witch hunt against a succesful well respected southern buisiness women. This in it’s entirity is to try to get money from her and her family. I say it is typical in this day and age given the state of affairs. I say it;s all about smear and money. Those responcible should be ashamed and just proves that bottom feeders do exist.

  14. erica Says:
    March 6th, 2012 at 10:06 am

No, this won’t change my opinion of Paula Dean and the products she represents … I stopped viewing, listening, and caring about her over-the-top bigger-than-big personality and completely unhealthy cuisine a long time ago.

  15. shep Says:
    March 6th, 2012 at 10:14 am

I’m thinking that this politically correct stuff is getting out of hand. From the comment posted Ms Deen didn’t call anyone a “N”. She didn’t use it in a hateful way or to make someone feel less than what they are. I am a female and I find the “B” work and the “C” word offensive but I’m not going to take someone to court for using them…..unless they call me one……and then I’d lose….. Grow up people, they are just WORDS.

  20. LaRaye Says:
    March 6th, 2012 at 10:24 am

No. I do not believe this line of crap. Everybody everywhere is looking for a huge hit on as many people as they can. The fact that this person was fired smacks of a vendetta against Ms. Deen and her family.

This is right up there with the McDonald’s hot coffee fiasco.

Just because Ms. Deen is from the South does NOT mean she is a racist or has made sexual overtures of any kind.

I believe Paula Deen misspoke and now it is coming back to bite her in the behind. It’s a different day and time and clearly we can think anything we want but when we choose to speak those thoughts outloud for others to hear we have to be cognizant of our surroundings and how our words impact others. Being a celebrity doesn’t exempt her from responsibility!

I will NEVER purchase another Paula Deen item or watch her stupid show again. She is an obvious liar. Isn’t this the same one who had diabetes while promoting sandwiches made out of doughnuts. Real Classy. This is icing on the cake. Paula Deen is a RACIST and so is her brother…probably her mother and father too

What is the purpose of this suit anyways? Paula Deen is known for shooting off her mouth, but that is Paula Deen.. Whether her remarks are what anyone wants or wants not to hear.. I am not a fan of hers but I once was.. But it has nothing to do with this …..She has worked very hard to get to where she is and I will credit her for that.I dont respect this woman who is suing.. She is an exemployee for one, and if Paula Deen were just Paula Deen before she became a public figure there is no way this woman would even have given suing a thought as Paula was just Paula Deen..This is something that can be brought to the public eye about Paulas negative character, but in no way should be brought into a court room..

  31. Teddy Says:
    March 6th, 2012 at 10:42 am

Regarding Paula Dean: I think it’s a bunch of hog wash. Its 2012 and I am tired of African Americans that get fired always come back with a lawsuit. Sure all the others still working there are going to side with her. Unfortunatly thats how it usually works. This is why we will never move ahead. The half of the African Americans that want to keep the racism alive is alive and well in these here United States.

I’ve been to her restuarant twice and would go again, the next time I was in town. It’s time to move on America. Please we have apologized, given you extra rights at work places. We can’t change the past, but we’de like to change the present and the future.

Sounds like a bunch of Bulls@!t to me. That’s what is wrong with this world. Everybody wants a piece of somebody else’s pie. What people need to be worried about is how the US is gonna fix their financial problems. Lisa Jackson is pulling a scam!

  34. Shayla Perry Says:
    March 6th, 2012 at 10:51 am

Thanks for your comment. Just to clarify, Lisa Jackson is NOT African-American. She is a former white employee of Paula Dean and her brother, Bubba, who claims that she witnessed the two making these remarks about others.

  35. rocky Says:
    March 6th, 2012 at 10:55 am

Anyone can watch her for a short time and see what a phoney she is. What I find amazing is that she is still on t.v. I hope she looses everything. Good luck Lisa Jackson. I do wish the article would have said what race Lisa Jackson is.

Got one thing to say about this.I lived in the low country of South Carolina a number of years ago.Did’t take long to see Black folk and White folk get along well. They share in making a living and sharing Church pews.Thy also say things of off color at times in the conversations,Both Black AND White ,all is forgiven at the end of the day.lET’S MOVE ON…WE GOT A COUNTRY TO SAVE.

I think thee is much more to this than we are hearing from the employee. I think Bubba would have been a fool to have done what he accused of.
One of Paula’s oldest employees is black and you see her all the time in the pictures with Deen I have black friends that call each other nigger all the time but Id o not as I am white but would not be offended if called a honky by anyone it is just a dumb word.

  42. Wendy Brown Says:
    March 6th, 2012 at 11:12 am

I dont believe that Paula is racist. I think she is a genuine caring person. Knowing the kind of life she has had and the hardships she endured I dont believe she would be condensending to others of any race. Some people just like to try and cash in on the hard work of others. Now that she is wealthy there are some who want to try and get a piece of that by suing her.

  43. Tamara Says:
    March 6th, 2012 at 11:12 am

I think that these allegations are true. There are several people in the world today that are racist. She deserves whatever she gets.

  44. Jay Says:
    March 6th, 2012 at 11:18 am

“…do you believe the allegations made against Paula Deen? Will these claims of racism and misogyny have an impact on whether or not you watch her shows, buy her products, or eat at her restaurants?”

Yes to all of the above. And as I have publicly stated before, she has disgustingly “uncouth” habits (i.e. drinking directly out of a (milk?) bottle on national TV) and she is a hypocrite (i.e. wearing approx. $75-100 thousand in jewelry) while espousing about how “economical” she is.

Bottomline: She is a complete waste of time and her type of “cooking” is a serious cause for health risks, obesity and she laughs in the face of it. I, already, do not watch her show nor buy her products and would NEVER think of eating at her restaurant. Uncouth, hypocrite, and now we add racist to the list. Keep going Paula! You’re doing great towards relieving us of your presence.

  45. BJ Breaux Says:
    March 6th, 2012 at 11:33 am

As African American, I say innocent until proven guilty. I’m going to follow the case, if it looks legit or Deen punks out and settles, then she will no longer exist in my media/TV world.

  46. Careful, Teddy... Says:
    March 6th, 2012 at 11:39 am

Where in the world did “Teddy” get the information that the former employee/GM was African American or that she was fired? I’m going to shelve my suspicions about the accuracy of the accusations or the details of the case, and actually wait for the judge/jury to decide based on the facts. Either way, I wouldn’t eat Paula Dean’s food! I like real butter and milk, but it’s clear she needs to be a little more aware about what she puts in her mouth (and perhaps what comes out of it)!

  47. Casey Says:
    March 6th, 2012 at 11:45 am

I’m missing something here. It’s OK for blacks to use the “N” word unendingly but it is a cause for lawsuits when a white person uses the same word? Just go drink the Kool-aid and get it over with.

  48. jalesia Says:
    March 6th, 2012 at 11:47 am

im black and i dont believe that paula deen seems like a sweet grandmother type she wuldnt say something like that people are always tryin find a way to get money out of the rich if she said all this racist well why didnt you say anything about it back then when it was fresh its old now if she did say it dont get mad becuz you fired and try to call her out on it now its 2 late stop tryna git rich and find another job every white owner is not a racist just because they fire you and your black……Leave paula deen alone ya’ll (paula deen voice)

  49. Jaynar Says:
    March 6th, 2012 at 11:50 am

You can take the girl out of the gas station but…. I have always thought of Paula as someone who would say what you want to hear on-air and something totally different off-air. She has a bit of arrogance and a ‘holier than thou’ air about her. The comments of her and her brother don’t surprise me. Her fans should reconsider their loyalties as she is laughing all the way to the bank with the money from people she has no respect for.

  50. Alice Andrews-Crowder Says:
    March 6th, 2012 at 11:51 am

Just disgusting. Who would have thought she had that in her.

  51. CC Says:
    March 6th, 2012 at 11:52 am

Why am I not surprised? A lot of people say really inapporiate things at the work place. I wouldn’t put it pass a lot of people, black, white, brown, tan whatever. For some strange reason people can’t get passed the issue of race. So, good luck to PR department in Paula Dee’s corner, that looks like a nightmare.

  52. Karen Hernacki Says:
    March 6th, 2012 at 11:56 am

Eavesdropping??? My mother always told me to believe 1/2 of what I see and none of what I hear.

  53. Tasha Says:
    March 6th, 2012 at 11:57 am

Is the egg off of your face yet?! “Please we have apologized, given you extra rights at work places”. WOW! (In my sarcastic voice) We as a race are so thankful to you Teddy!

  54. Stephanie Says:
    March 6th, 2012 at 12:02 pm

First off, even if she did say the “n” word…who the heck cares? She’s allowed to say that word. It sucks if she’s a racist but she’s allowed to use any word she wants. If everyone who used that word in their lifetime was labeled a “racist” we’d have to have a long talk with the black community don’t ya think? Furthermore, I don’t see a quote of her actually calling someone that word. Second, where are the sexually harassing remarks? Because she said p*ssy she is sexually harassing someone? Seriously? Lisa Jackson just wants her 15 minutes of fame.

  55. hgr Says:
    March 6th, 2012 at 12:03 pm

I guess the questions I would ask are these: How many restrooms does the restaurant have? Which do customers use? Is the restroom in the back set aside specifically for employees? Or more specifically, only black employees? If it was only to be used by black employees, then this is not going to go well for Ms. Deen.

  56. Leah Says:
    March 6th, 2012 at 12:05 pm

Now Teddy you can take a moment to pick your racist face off the floor! Ha! How dare you say “Please we have apologized, given you extra rights at work places” when you haven’t done nothing for African Americans yourself. When your people have slaved to build a country and been robbed of there freedom then you can talk. The playing field will NEVER be leveled but I will say that you are right we as a people should move on and most have. That is why we have President Obama in office.

  57. Steven Birn Says:
    March 6th, 2012 at 12:11 pm

This sounds like a shakedown gone to far. What exactly are Lisa Jackson’s damages for hearing Dean use the n word? How is it sexual harrassment to give a woman a job that traditionally men do? My guess is that none of this is true. Jackson probably demanded money from Dean threatening to destroy her via a lawsuit. When Deam wouldn’t pay up Jackson went ahead and filed this action. I hope Dean files a countersuit for slander.

  58. cray shay Says:

I like Paul Deen who cares about the N word Blacks call eacher those names but it becomes a sin when a white person call the blacks the n word

  60. Josie Says:
    March 6th, 2012 at 12:19 pm

This will not affect whether or not I would watch her show, buy her products or eat at her restaurants. These are things I already would never do. The couple of times I saw her show, I was nauseated by the thought of eating her cooking. No big surprise that she has type 2 diabetes.

  61. Annette M Says:
    March 6th, 2012 at 12:22 pm

Oh she said it. No doubt in my mind. I’ve never purcahed any of her products nor so I watch that mug of hers on any show. She’s got a monkey on her back that’s hard to shake, sugar, and ignorance. Nor can she cook down home southern food. My great grandmother would smack the sheeeeeeet out of her for wasting food.

  62. Sally Says:
    March 6th, 2012 at 12:24 pm

I don’t like phony people and she is one. I’ve heard before she has a filthy mouth and she looks the part. I don’t like her now, don’t like her show, don’t like her phoney accent, don’t waste my time with her or her phony family. All those above who say there is nothing wrong with what the lady said is probably hired by Deen to send in those comments or else they are southern racist themselves.

  63. Annette M Says:
    March 6th, 2012 at 12:25 pm

Of course you white folks don’t want to believe it, you protect your lying own.

  64. Dap Says:
    March 6th, 2012 at 12:29 pm

I’ve been a Paula Dean fan for quite some time. I hope it ends up being a fabrication. BUT, if there’s any truth to Lisa Jackson’s words, BIG SHAME ON YOU Paula. I’d definitely have to dismiss you permanently!

  65. Allie Says:
    March 6th, 2012 at 12:40 pm

I think this is sad and opportunistic. Does anyone think employees would be treated this way on a routine basis, by a celebrity no less, and not do something before now? Our society is too happy to jump on the litigation bandwagon.

  66. Cass MacAdams Says:
    March 6th, 2012 at 12:44 pm

To C. Petersen: The woman filing the lawsuit is Caucasian…and what the hell does Obama have to do with it?

  67. Cass MacAdams Says:
    March 6th, 2012 at 12:51 pm

To C. Petersen:”Jackson — a white woman who managed a number African American employees — claims that over the course of five years, she made “numerous and frequent” complaints of racial and sexual harassment and other abusive treatment to Deen and others in her restaurant group’s upper management, but they declined to act, even though the conduct was “universally known.”

…and what does Obama have to do with it?

  68. Ann Says:
    March 6th, 2012 at 12:53 pm

A friend of mine went to one of her cooking demonstrations a few years ago and said she was shocked by the behavior displayed by Deen. After some of the things she told me, I’m not really surprised. But then, I’m in the north and have friends down in the south and the frame of mind is different. I’ve been called a traitorous Yankee so many times that it’s clear some southerners, not all but some, have frame of minds that are stuck in the past.

  69. Arkansas Judy Says:
    March 6th, 2012 at 12:54 pm

It is a fact that the person hollerin’ “racist” is the one who is “racist”. I am so sick of the word “racist” I could literally vomit!!

Someone like Paula Deen who earned her place in this world through hard work and determination to help raise her sons and to put food on the table, so they could survive and she did it on her own. It took a lot of guts and perseverance. She should be an inspiration to every person struggling to survive in our economic crisis.

My advice to this stupid idiot who thinks she was given a hard rap, “Get Over It!!!” Go and make your own way in this world and PLEASE make sure it is YOUR own work that gets you ahead and not on the back of someone else’s work. Colleges call that plagarism!!!

I will back up Paula Deen, even though she is not my most favorite Food Network Star, that place belongs to Guy Fieri and a couple of others that I like. I watch Paula’s show all the time, and will continue to do so!!

Honey, the complainer, you really do need to get a life of your own.

  70. Alex Says:
    March 6th, 2012 at 12:54 pm

Wow, this is sad. We don’t know if Paula really did say those things and if Bubba was actually handing out hand-outs of “Why Gay Marriage Should Be Legal” and watching porn in the same office as her.The fact of the matter is this happened 5 years ago. And since when did you sue someone for using the N word? What, she’s suing because she’s offended? Grow a set, Lisa. I’m black, too, but let it go. People will sue for anything these days and this is by far the most stupid case I’ve seen. Stupid for no reason.

  71. Alex Says:
    March 6th, 2012 at 12:56 pm

I had a very, very, small business. An employee of mine had a black cat she called n****r. I have a black brother in law and niece. I ignored her. I do cuss, as she did. I laughed at the Pope’s car and called it a Popemobile. She and I are both Catholic. When I fired her three years later for giving out private company financial information to a competitor, she filed a sexual and religious lawsuit in retaliatin. She won. The court appointed mediator MADE ME SETTLE WITH HER. My lawyer said I had to go along or waste all of my company resources to fight a measly $3000.00, which is all she could ask for because my company had less than 10 employees. Paula Deen may settle because she has a HUGE company and can’t prove that she didn’t say or do those things. Even if she did and her employee didn’t complain at the time, the employee is always right. She’s fighting not just a lawsuit, but the politics of the court system. PLEASE DON’T ASSUME SOMEONE WHO SETTLES IS GUILTY JUST BECAUSE THEY SETTLE. Most people never find themselves in this position because they don’t own their own company!

People from the South are some of the most ignorant people in the world. Back in 2001 I traveled to Lake Jordan Texas for a friend’s wedding. Anyways there was a black DJ at the reception and 3 white guys who were cousins of the bride went up to him and said “You better shut this n!gger noise of boy or well have to hang ya like in the good ol’ days” Now you may think they were drunk but thing is they weren’t. The DJ kept playing his music so one of the guys went up to him again and screamed more racial slurs at him then grabbed his turn table and smashed it on the ground. Several guys had to subdue him and he ended up getting kicked out as well as having to pay $3,000 for the equipment he broke.

I am sick to death of “racist” remarks from all parties. It has been a fact in my own life that the person hollerin’ “RACISM” is, in fact, the very person that is being “racist”. Honey, you need to get a life!!! You do not need to try to get rich off of someone who is well known, like Paula Deen, you made an honest living for her and her sons. It took grit, perseverance and a whole lot of determination to put food on her table and pay the bills so that they could live and have a decent life.

I have watched Paula Deen for years and will continue to do so. She is not my favorite Food Network star, but she ranks high on my list. Guy Fieri is my favorite along with Geoffrey Zakarian, Rachel Ray, Anne Burrell and some others. I have many favorites. I watch Food Network so that I can be a better cook, and get new ideas in the kitchen.

Why be so negative? They are only giving you tips that have worked for them for years. There are not that many people that can do what these stars do on a regular basis. It is hard work. If you watch “Chopped” you will see just how hard it is to make it as a well known chef.

My advice to the “Racist Screamer”, “GET OVER IT!!!” Get on with your life!! You obviously need a new one. You ignorance is “blooming” for the whole world to see and point fingers at you and, “YES, LAUGH at your expense.” Honey, I am laughing all over the place!!!

The reverse racism black on white is so obvious these days. Even if she said it which I doubt she did. Who cares I have heard way worse from blacks to blacks and again its just words. If it was said she didn’t violate anyone’s rights or anything. She spoke using derogatory, slang, racial terms that no more carry the same meaning they once did. Oh by the way I see as many white and Mexican niggers as I do black niggers. Black’s don’t have a monopoly on the word nigger.

First of all why don’t you folks read the PDF file of the charges against her company.
    (link provided below)

This is a lawsuit that seems to be mainly against Paula’s brother Bubba first and then Paula’s company, only because her company owns the restaurant and Paula being true owner of this restaurant is obviously condoning, her brother’s bad behavior therein. Just to clear up some misconceptions on this board, 1.) Ms. Jackson is white, 2.) She left the company on her own under the advice of her doctor.

According to the filed papers, Ms. Jackson had been trying for the past five years to effect some sort of environmental change within this establishment because her boss (Paula’s brother) Bubba was running a hostile environment within the work place, one that obviously catered to the ideas of racism, misogyny, sex discrimination and oppressive fear, AND he is a thief as well who is stealing from his sister’s company.

Ms. Dean apparently has been given every opportunity to improve working conditions in this restaurant; my question is this, if she is not as bad as her brother why would she allow these conditions to continue? My feeling is because number one, this drunken incapable man is her brother, for some odd reason she doesn’t want to go against family, whether they are dragging what she worked so hard for down or not. My other thought here is that if she has said some of things that is in this filed lawsuit then she is a closet racist and even as big a sexist against HER OWN sex no less as he is and she and her company does deserve to be exposed same as it would apply for any other company like say Walmarts and Denny’s? Who were guilty of the same kinds of things.

As far as anyone trying to get 15 minutes of fame or trying to get something for nothing,
Give me a break, if I suffered through that crap while trying to do the right thing for the last five years and my health had suffered and I had to uproot myself just to find work again, oh hell yeah, I would make them suffer like I did AND make them pay for my suffering too, not to mention pay me all back pay that would actually be commensurate with the work that I did and equal to the pay of the men who are being paid more than me in my same position and beneath it, if any of her complaint is true in my opinion she deserves whatever she is asking for and they deserve whatever they get too.

@CPetersen, the accuser is a white female. And the woman didn’t reach the level of success she was apparently quite capable of achieving if Paula Deen and her neanderthal brother actually promoted womaen on merit. Instead, they both appear to have antiquated attitudes about women and non-whites. I hope they both fry in their greasy food. Which apparently is not particularly great. In Savannah I bypassed her restaurant upon locals’ advice of it being overrated and overpriced for a great restaurant with great service and great prices. The mighty don’t rise so high without being ruthless. Dean and her brother said a lot of what this woman accuses them in front of a lot of other people. Some may lie and deny it, but apparently Bubba really didn’t care what he did in front of others. I hope she gets fired from her show and sued to the last penny.

None of you idiots can read. First the woman is white. She didn’t get fired, she quit on the advice of her doctor. This didn’t happen 5 years ago. It happened over a period of 5 years. Most of you don’t seem to get it. Nobody cares if Paula Deen talked about monkeys and niggers all day at home or screamed it in the streets for that matter or if Bubba jerked off all day to child porn in his home. But there are laws protecting people – including you – from harassment in the workplace. You can’t call your employees names, or show them porn, or deny them commensurate salaries because of their race or gender. Ms. Deen and her idiot brother broke a whole bunch of laws that are there to protect the American worker. If the accusations are true, I hope they fry in their grease. And nobody knows the real sorry about Ms. Deen. There’s something call publicity so don’t believe everything some rich celebrity tells you about how they got to the top. Most people with a lot of money did some ruthless things to get there. Ms. Deen is not all sweetness and light. Don’t believe that for a minute.

Just because Paula Deen has lots of money does not give her the right to demean or belittle others.
For years I have watched Ms. Deen’s disgusting kitchen habits and wondered why anyone would buy a book from her. She licks utencils and puts them back in the pot, licks her fingers and then touches other food, eats off others plates, crams her mouth so full she can’t even close it.
She may have money, but it certainly cannot buy her manners, class or respect. Your ship is sinking Ms. Deen.

She eats from a pot and puts the same dirty spoon back in the same pot with food in it, she eats off others plates, she crams so much food in her mouth she can’t even close it, she licks her fingers and then touches food without washing her hands.
She may have a lot of money, but it certainly hasn’t bought her class, manners, respect or the ability to treat others with the respect they deserve. If you people would read the paperwork filed with the court, providing you know how to read, before you mouth off, you would appear so stupid. Go get ‘er Ms. Jackson. She and everyone else being sued, deserves what they get.

But I can not tolerate treating people different because of the color of their skin. Every last one of us have the same color blood in us. The very same organs, and all the same parts. I don’t know if Paula said these things or not and I too have bigger things to worry about. However, the fact that so many are willing to look over the possibility and condone her RIGHT to say whatever she wants is concerning. The fact is that if any of these things are true then it is not RIGHT for her as a public figure and business owner to portray herself in so negative a light. I see that many of the comments say that African Americans refer to themselves a Ns and so its okay. Well, I’ve been African American all my life and have never referred to myself as a N***, nor do my family members do so. Don’t assume by the assinine actions of a few that this is common for many. Also, I may make a statement that I was an “idiot” for doing something but that wouldn’t give you the right to call me an “idiot” and the same goes for the N word. Also, the woman making the allegations is NOT African American, so please stop acting like she is. Lastly, WE are not getting any special treatment on jobs, check your facts cause Affirmative Action is a thing of the past. Don’t fool yourself, racism is alive and well in the job market. I still like Paula. She’s a white woman, in her 60s, in Georgia. If she did these things, she’s a product of her generation and circumstances. I just pray that any changes she needs to make to her spirit and her business, she’ll take the time to make, if needed. Most of all I pray for the erradication of such simple mindedness and narrow thinking as others beliefs that its okay to be racist and prejudicial towards another.

I don’t know if it is true or not, but how sad…how pathetic and disgusting if it is.
According to the lawsuit and articles I have read, Ms. Jackson was not fired, she quit. It appears after Bubba Heirs became physical with her. Also, at some time Heirs referred to Ms. Jackson as “his little Jew girl” (I believe that is in the lawsuit). So, it may possibly be that Ms. Jackson is not African American. I don’t know for sure. How will that change your defense of Deen and Heirs, if Ms. Jackson is not African American? Not another African American just trying to get a check? It sounds like a lot of racism and stereo-typing in the postings I have read.

I don’t know if it’s true or not, but it’s a heck of a story to have to spell out in detail for the lawsuit. There is a lot of stuff in the lawsuit.

I was not only shocked but floored when I heard of these “allegations” against Paula Deen! I was crushed because I had placed her at the top of the list of survivors by her coming from NOTHING, having to struggle as a single mother & finally making it as a cook (home-cook). She became a millionaire in a very short time. Her story touched millions of us & we all fell in love with her family. We also were sad about her getting diabetes, but she hid that from us too!!

I saw her interview on Oprah a year or so discussing her struggles through life & how much she has succeeded in her life. She thanked GOD for all of the good & bad experiences because without all the bad, she would never know the joys of the good!! She told Oprah how much she respects all “folks” in her journey of life because they all gave her lessons in her life with her experiences with them. Ironic Huh??

With all of this said, there is NO EXCUSE for the “alleged” comments she made about the attire to be worn by the servers at her brother’s wedding!! NONE!! I don’t give a hoot where she was born, raised or lived or currently lives, that has nothing to do with those horrible comments. I, myself, was born, raised & live in the South my entire 55 yrs of life! I have NEVER & WILL never use comments like those she has “allegedly” made! I raised my kids to NEVER mistreat, judge or call someone of ANY RACE derogatory names!! I DON’T TOLERATE the “N” word used around me at anytime! I will go off in a heartbeat! We all, regardless of race, can be a “racist” in some kind if ways, but it is up to us to treat each other with respect!!

So Paula, if you did make these comments, the disappointment cuts deep & you do need to take ownership situation!!!

You can rest easy though, even though you have been fired from Food Network & even MAY suffer repercussions from other endorsers, you won’t feel too much of a sting financially. You might what to visit the probability of becoming an “inspirational speaker” so you can be an example of what a “racist” can look like & how it’s never too late to change!!

I wish you well in your new career change. You will be missed by thousands of people. So sad about the whole thing. Just wondering, was it worth the comments??

And it does happen with everyone. The media takes anything people in power have to say and twist to there way. Anyone could make comments, but not movies stars, politicians, etc. they are watched for everything. Honestly, I do not think anything should be told about politicians, movies stars because over half is not true. But it does sell in magazines, papers, and television. I think we should leave some thing alone. The reality tv is just too much reality. Let it go and leave it to your imagination. Ignorance is bliss!
