Paula Deen and Brother Slapped with Sexual Harassment Suit

March 06, 2012 08:05 AM by Shayla Perry

It looks like more trouble for Paula Deen! A former employee of the celebrity chef who’ll be featured on an episode of NBC‘s Who Do You Think You Are? has filed a lawsuit against Deen and her brother, Bubba Hiers. What’s their beef with the Food Network star?

The Atlanta Journal Constitution reports that Lisa Jackson, former general manager at Uncle Bubba’s Seafood and Oyster House, has filed a lawsuit alleging that she was the victim of sexual harassment while employed at the restaurant, co-owned by Deen and her brother.

According to Jackson, she was subjected to a series of indecent incidents at the Savannah, Georgia establishment over a period of five years.

In August of 2010, Jackson quit her job; a move that she claims her doctor advised after treating her for panic attacks and other stress-related health conditions that she suffered while working at Uncle Bubba’s.

The lawsuit also alleges that Hiers made a number of sexual comments to Lisa Jackson, distributed inappropriate photos to employees, and watched porn in the office that the two shared.

In addition to the sexual harassment claims, Jackson is also accusing Deen and Hiers of racism, alleging that both of them made racist comments about the restaurant’s African-American employees and forced them to use a different restroom than Lisa and the other white employees, which was located in the back of the establishment.

Lisa Jackson is seeking unspecified damages in the suit.
