March 06, 2012 03:00 PM by Lisa Princ
Last week on FOX‘s American Idol, the top 13 finalists were chosen after their performances gave America the chance to vote. This week, we will get to see a Whitney Houston tribute during the performances, and an Idol alum will be back on the stage for the results show. Read on for all the details!
American Idol never did get around to that Whitney Houston tribute that Ryan Seacrest promised us after the star’s death, but they will make good on that this week! DeAndre Brackensick, Hollie Cavanagh, Colton Dixon, Heejun Han, Jermaine Jones, Skylar Laine, Joshua Ledet, Shannon Magrane, Phillip Phillips, Jeremy Rosado, Jessica Sanchez, Elise Testone and Erika Van Pelt will take the stage to perform this week, and they will be mentored by the legendary Mary J. Blige.
The guys will take on the music of Stevie Wonder and the ladies will pay special tribute to the late Whitney Houston. As American Idol celebrates its 400th episode this week, we will watch as Mary J. Blige takes the stage during the results show, and we will find out who won over America. Season 10′s runner-up, Lauren Alaina will also return to the Idol stage to perform her new smash hit Georgia Peach.
Sound off below! What do you think of the top 13? Are you looking forward to this week’s performances? Comment and share your thoughts with us!
