America’s Next Top Model Recap: Supermodels-Superheroes

March 14, 2012 07:31 PM by Veronica Dudo

On tonight’s episode of America’s Next Top Model airing on the CW, the women create ad campaigns which include casting, wardrobe, props as well as hair and make-up but one model just can’t take the criticism. The guest judge is international supermodel Cat Deeley. Keep reading to find out which model storms off the show!

Former contestants from “Britain’s Next Top Model” and an all-new crop of American model hopefuls are competing for the grand prize. The girls from America are Laura, Azmarie, Eboni, Kyle, Candace and Seymone. The United Kingdom models include Alisha, Louise, Catherine, Annaliese, Sophie and Ashley.

Tensions are high in the house as the models are learning to live and work together. Tyra Banks visits them at the house for a quick tour. She also tells the girls that as models–especially supermodels–they are superheroes and gives them superhero names. She then tells the girls that they need to learn how to form and grow their brands in the world of fashion. So, this week the task for the girls is to develop campaigns for the website very.com. The girls need to come up with the theme, set up the shots, pick the male models and select the pictures.

The U.K. team chooses Annaliese as their leader and their theme is 60′s Fashion. Kelly Cutrone supervises the project and has some harsh words for the girls. She wants them to realize everything that goes into a campaign. Annaliese is unsure of some of her decisions and her teammates are nervous. Louise tries to help out and starts to run around when time begins to run out. Kelly tells her not to look chaotic on the set. Louise is upset because she says she is just trying to help out her team.

The U.S. team leader is Azmarie and they want to portray a “Punk Love” theme. The goal is to feature love and luxury. Azmarie is a strong leader and knows what she wants.

Both teams go shopping for props and interview male models for the shoot. Next, they story board the project. The next day at the photo shoot, things move along nicely for the U.S. tem while some of the models on the U.K. team can’t handle the constructive criticism and start to break down.

The judge’s panel includes Tyra Banks, Nigel Barker, Kelly Cutrone and guest judge Cat Deeley. While reviewing the photographs, Kelly tells the rest of the judges that Louise has a really bad attitude. Louise rolls her eyes and then Tyra tells Louise that she needs to learn now how to show respect for veterans in the fashion industry. Louise freaks out and tells them she is done and wants to leave! She storms out crying and tells the producers she is done with the competition and wants to go home. Later, when she is calmer, she explains that she has worked too hard to stand in-front of people who rip her apart. She says people who know her will understand that she tried.

Azmarie is chosen as the model with the best photo this week. Since Louise decided to leave the competition, the judges choose not to eliminate any of the models.

I was shocked at Louise’s meltdown but I can see why she got upset. I couldn’t stand heraring Kelly Cutrone’s attitude towards the models. Just because you’re an established name in the modeling business doesn’t mean you have to treat people like a jerk. Of course this is someone who’s show on Bravo was called “Kell On Earth”. But it’s a shame Louise left because she obviously wouldn’t have gotten eliminated. I wish her the best.

It is so sad that you are going this opportuniy and have the attitude of a two year old. This is a hard business where you are picked apart daily. Grow so tough skin or get out of this business because you will not last long. Not when you are telling your boss to go to hell

i don’t blame her. i mean seriously, this show practically degrades women and forces unrealistic values down our throats. i personally respect louise’s choice; she was brave enough to make a statement and choose a better path for herself. plus, models throwing tantrums, big deal, there are tons like her. and kelly is also a nag.
