Interior Therapy Recap: Season Premiere!

March 14, 2012 08:24 PM by Shayla Perry

Tonight on Bravo, Flipping Out‘s Jeff Lewis, Jenni Pulos, and the one and only Zoila are back with an all new show, Interior Therapy, where each week they’ll move in with a family for five days and help them change more than their wall colors, but their lives. Keep reading for all the highlights of the premiere episode.

On Day 1, Jeff and Jenni meet with Michael and Felice Steinbeck and take a tour of the house to assess their needs.

One of the main problems is that the couple gave the home’s master bedroom to their oldest son, which left them sharing a bathroom with their other kids, and Michael going downstairs just to get his clothes every day.

Though the rest of their house is in great condition, Felice and Michael are a little apprehensive about going through another big renovation project after a bad experience with their kitchen.

Can Jeff live up to the couple’s “extreme standards” in just 5 days?

So much to do and so little time, so Jeff and Jenni want to get started immediately.

With Jenni overseeing everything at the house, Jeff takes Michael and Felice furniture shopping, hoping to give Michael a chance to have something in their home that he’s actually picked out.

Michael wants a bed that’s lower to the ground, but Felice isn’t willing to budge. Luckily, Jeff intervenes before Felice ends up throttling her husband in the middle of the furniture store, and helps them at least agree to consider working toward some kind of compromise. (Baby steps.)

Back at the house, a smoke alarm sets Felice off even more, and later that night, Michael finds that there’s water leaking into the kitchen — again, leading Jeff to consider bringing in another team to finish the project.

Things aren’t better the next day when Jeff discovers that the tile in the bathroom is off, and he’s livid that the holes for the faucets aren’t lined up where he wanted them either.

As he and Jenni are arguing over the fact that she didn’t back him up when discussing the problem with the contractor, Felice and Michael chat about their doubts in the team’s ability to get things done on time. BUT, the good news is that Michael is finally speaking up.

The final night before the reveal, the Steinbecks head to a hotel while Jeff and his crew finish up the renovations. Just when they think they’re catching up and will actually be able to get everything done, the team is once again set back hours before the family is supposed to get home when the headboard to the bed gets stuck in the stairway, and they have to bust holes in the wall — and patch them up, of course — just to get it through.

By the time Michael, Felice, and their kids arrive, everything is done, and to Jeff’s delight, Felice (and Michael) are both amazed by what they’ve accomplished.

And yes, the couple even has a bed that’s just right for both them.

I’m a huge “Flipping Out” fan.. but I found this new show unwatchable. The whole charm to Jeff Lewis is watching how he interacts with his staff, works at home, and his REAL clients.. not the fake set up ones on the new show. I predict this show is going to tank. Why did Bravo mess with a good thing? I’m SO disappointed!

The husband, Michael, on this premiere episode is clearly Gay. I can’t believe, in this day and age (especially in Cali, of all places!) there are still closeted gays living a farce of a life! Poor man is married to a woman when he really wants someone to “throw him a bone” and “atleast 6 inches” (all of which he looks directly at Jeff when he says it, lol. His wife is a nightmare AND she has a vagine (I assume) so he is in lving hell. Come on out Michael! The water’s fine:)
