March 15, 2012 08:00 AM by Lisa Princ

Last night on FOX‘s American Idol, the finalists took the stage, and in a shocking revelation, Jermaine Jones was kicked off the show due to outstanding warrants. Producers Nigel Lythgoe and Ken Warwick revealed that they would have saved him…if he was honest from the start. Read on for more!

American Idol producers gave Jermaine Jones the boot last night after learning about his outstanding warrants. Those who watched the show, saw Jermaine confronted by Nigel Lythgoe and Ken Warwick about his four outstanding warrants that he failed to tell them about. Jermaine was sweet and sincere about it, claiming that he was afraid of getting into trouble and he did not deny lying about his past. However, the producers informed him that they were not allowed to have anyone on the show with any outstanding warrants.

Nigel Lythgoe and Ken Warwick spoke to TMZ, and told them that if Jermaine Jones was upfront and honest to begin with, they could have saved him instead of having to remove him from the competition. The head honchos told the gossip site that many kids come to the show with legal troubles, and added that when the contestants are truthful: “We help them where we can in clearing them up.”

Jermaine Jones was not on the show last night, but they did show a clip of his rehearsals which looked very promising – what a shame that he wasn’t truthful. What do you think of this shocking revelation? Was American Idol correct to kick Jermaine Jones off the series? Comment and share your thoughts with us!
