It’s night one of Project Runway All-Star‘s two-part season finale! Which of the three remaining designers will take home the top prize on the Lifetime reality show — Mondo Guerra, Michael Costello, or Austin Scarlett? Get all the highlights from tonight’s episode after the jump.
Tonight on Project Runway All-Stars, it’s the final challenge and it is a big one!
The designers will have four days to create a mini-collection consisting of five looks, which will be debuted in a red-carpet runway show. The contestants will also be responsible for casting their own models for the show.
But first, instead of her visiting them in the Workroom, the designers head to Marie Claire to meet with Joanna Coles for consultations. After picking her brain to find out what kinds of things people are looking for when attending a show, each of the designers begins to conceptualize the components of their collections and purchase fabric.
Mondo, who’s usually quite confident when it comes to fabric selection, just isn’t “feeling it” this time, and is disappointed in his choices.
Mondo’s moodiness is starting to annoy Michael and Austin, and not even a talk from Georgina gets him motivated, so he decides to just give himself the day off.
The next day, Mondo finally gets his inspiration. Realizing that he could probably benefit from some intense therapy, he decides to create a collection called “Therapy.”
Once they’ve casted their models, Isaac Mizrahi stops by the Workroom to give the designers the music for their shows and a few words of wisdom.
Just as they’re finally starting to get everything under control and get into a “groove,” Angela enters the Workroom to announce that there’s a bit of a twist to the challenge (isn’t there always?).
Now, the designers will have to add one more look to their collection, using the scraps of fabric they’ve accumulated from past challenges throughout the season.
But that’s not all. They’ll also be getting some helping hands….
In walk the All-Stars who were eliminated earlier in the season. Mondo, getting the first pick, selects Mila to work with him for 24 hours. Austin chooses Anthony, and Michael goes with April.
Unfortunately, they don’t get as much done as they’d like, but Austin seems to really benefit from having Anthony help him edit his collection.
After another consultation from Joanna, the designers make their final tweaks before turning in for the night.
Which collection will the judges like the best?
