It’s round two for the remaining fashion designers on NBC’s brand new reality TV series, Fashion Star. Tonight, the clothiers take direction from the customers. The show’s mentors challenge the designers to present their cloths to customers and embrace the feedback. Keep reading to find out what stores decide to buy their creations!
The 13 designers include Orly Shani, Edmond Newton, Oscar Fierro, Nikki Poulos, Barbara Bates, Ross Bennett, Sarah Parrott, Ronnie Escalante, Luciana Scarabello, Lizzie Parker, Lisa Vian Hunter, Nzimiro Oputa and Kara Laricks.
The three mentors are Jessica Simpson, Nicole Richie and John Varvatos. The buyers are Nicole Christie from H&M, Terron Schaefer from Saks Fifth Avenue and Caprice Willard from Macy’s.
Host Elle Macpherson announces that each week the designers will be presenting a showcase to the buyers. If the buyers want to purchase the collection then the designers will be safe and can continue on in the competition. But, for those who do not make a deal–they’re at risk for elimination.
The first three competing designers meet with the mentors. Lisa Vian Hunter designs vintage inspired cloths. Kara Laricks had a close call last week when she sent only accessories down the runway! But this week she designed dresses. Ronnie Escalante creates very modern and trendy pieces. Macy’s makes an offer to Lisa; Ronnie didn’t get any offers and in an intense bidding-war of the season Saks Fifth Avenue out-bids H&M paying $110,000 for Kara’s dresses.
Next, Orly Shani makes maxi dresses that come apart for a different look; Oscar Fierro shows short sexy dresses and Ross Bennett makes a statement with his unique twist on blazers for women with high collars. Last week, the judges saved Oscar and this week they’re disappointed in his designs. The buyers now have the chance to make offers on Oscar, Ross and Orly’s designers but the buyers choose to pass therefore all three designers are at risk of elimination.
The third group includes Lizzie Parker who features a light and airy summer look while Barbara Bates showcases leather tunics and Sarah Parrott designs tuxedo pants. The buyers now have the chance to snatch up what they like. Lizzie and Barbara both receive “No Offers” from the buyers but Sarah gets a $50,000 offer from H&M.
The designers in the bottom three are Oscar Fierro, Ross Bennett and Lizzie Parker. The mentors choose to save Ross Bennett and the buyers decide to eliminate Oscar Fierro from the competition.
