Fans of Bravo‘s Real Housewives of Atlanta may have only been introduced to Kim Zolciak‘s assistant, Sweetie, last season, but she’s been a part of the reality star’s life for over twelve years now, making it even more awkward when Kim finally fired her. Find out why Zolciak says that “had to” let Sweetie go, and what made their business relationship “impossible,” after the jump.
“Sweetie began to become a bit lazy, she didn’t seem like herself anymore, and it worried me,” Zolciak explains of her former assistant and longtime BFF in her Bravo blog. “The last thing I want is for our relationship to be ruined because of my role as her boss. Because of those feelings, I had to let Sweetie go.”
According to Kim, who says that their closeness made her business relationship with Sweetie “impossible,” she made the right decision. Now, Sweetie can simply be her friend with no obligations, no stress, and hopefully, no more slave comparisons (fingers crossed!).
“I’d much rather let Sweetie go and keep her as a friend, than keep her and jeopardize one of the most important relationships I have,” says Kim, adding, “Assistants come and go, but you can’t buy loyalty.”
