The American Idol contestants are going to Disney World! Well, not all of them. TMZ has learned that the finalists on the FOX reality show have been contracted to do some work at the theme park’s new attraction, The American Idol Experience. What will they be doing, and how much are they going to be paid? Find out all the details after the jump.
We don’t know who will make it to the final five, but we can tell you that whoever it is, they’ll be making a trip to “the Happiest Place on Earth” in the near future.
After obtaining a copy of one of the American Idol contestant’s contracts, TMZ discovered that a deal has already been made, requiring each of the five finalists to tape a performance for later use at Disney’s latest attraction, The American Idol Experience.
For their work, the 2nd through 5th place contestants will be compensated $50,000, while this season’s winner gets $200,000. But with the higher payday, also comes more work.
In addition to their taped performance, the Idol winner will also star in a commercial for the attraction and make an appearance at the park to promote The American Idol Experience.
FOX, Fremantle Media, and 19 Entertainment declined to comment on TMZ’s findings.
