It’s been a long time since Justin Bieber‘s put out new music, but now, the wait is over. At midnight, the Biebs, co-host of MTV‘s Punk’d reboot, released his latest single, “Boyfriend” from the much-anticipated album Believe. Hear the track yourself after the jump!
Bieber first gave fans a preview of the song earlier this month, letting them vote on the single’s cover art. On Wednesday (March 21), the popstar released the song’s lyrics, and unveiled a 10-second clip of the beat on Ellen.
Justin also posted this “Behind the Scenes” clip on YouTube, showing his team putting the track together in the studio.
And if that didn’t create enough buzz….
The Biebs counted down the release of “Boyfriend” on his official Twitter page, posting a link to the song on iTunes and writing, “IM HERE” at midnight.
Almost immediately, #BOYFRIENDONITUNES began trending worldwide.
“Boyfriend” is the first single from Justin Bieber’s highly anticipated album, Believe. The follow-up to his 2011 holiday record, Under the Mistletoe, Believe has yet to be given a firm release date, but is expected to be out over the summer, featuring artists like Lil Wayne, Drake, and Timbaland.
