It’s been a tough year for R&B singer Bobby Brown. Still coping with the death of his ex-wife Whitney Houston, and fighting to keep his 19-year-old daughter, Bobbi Kristina, out of trouble, the Being Bobby Brown star ended up getting arrested in California yesterday, after police pulled him over for talking on a cell phone while driving. The “Don’t Be Cruel” singer was later charged and booked for suspicion of DUI, but is he still in jail? Keep reading for all the details.
According to reports, police pulled over former Bravo reality star, Bobby Brown, on Monday (March 26) afternoon at 12:20 PM at the intersection of Victory Blvd. and Wilbur in the Van Nuys/Tarzana, Calif. neighborhood.
Officers initially stopped Brown because he was talking on his cell phone while driving, and gave him a field sobriety test, which the “My Prerogative” singer failed.
Officer Mike Harris of the California Highway Patrol says that Bobby Brown was then taken to the Van Nuys jail, where he was charged and booked for suspicion of driving under the influence, or DUI.
A spokesperson fro the Los Angeles Police Department reports that Brown was released from the Van Nuys police station’s jail on his own recognizance approximately two hours later.
The R&B singer’s manager says that Brown returned to his home following the incident.
