American Idol Results Recap: Another Idol Faces The Music
April 05, 2012 06:56 PM by Shayla Perry
Last night on FOX, the Top 8 American Idol finalists took on hits from the 80′s with a little help from celebrity mentor, Gwen Stefani. Now that the votes are in, find out which of your favorite contestants will be moving on in the competition, and who was eliminated. Tonight’s results after the jump!
This week on American Idol, after a plug for Jennifer Lopez‘s Q’Viva and a glimpse of her steamy new video (plus a little ribbing from Ryan Seacrest about her dancer beau, Casper Smart), Jessica Sanchez and Joshua Ledet – who’s not feeling too well – head to center-stage and learn that they’re both safe and moving on to the next phase of the competition.
Next, The Wanted perform their latest hit and then, Skylar Laine, Colton Dixon, Hollie Cavanaugh, and DeAndre Brackensick come forward.
Unfortunately for DeAndre, the voters agreed with Jimmy Iovine, and he is the first to be named to the bottom three. Colton (of course) is safe from elimination, as is Skylar. Hollie, however, is also in the bottom three.
After Idol alum Kellie Pickler‘s performance, the final duet, Phillip Phillips and Elise Testone are brought to the center of the stage and Elise is told that she is the final contestant in the bottom three.
Immediately, Hollie finds out that she’s safe, and so is Skylar.
Will the judges save DeAndre?
The audience is chanting for them to use their one save on him, and though Jennifer wants to, Randy and Steven don’t agree, so the 17-year-old Wild Card pick is heading home tonight.
What did you think of tonight’s Results Show? Did the right person get eliminated? Sound off in the Comments section below. We want to hear from you!

Definitely the right choice! The falsetto is very limited. The girls are much more talented.

Unfortunately J Lo is not the sweet personality she gives out of Idol. We love her on there, however the new video is not at all appropriate for viewing by children who may also like to see her. I think at her age she should begin to think
what she is doing and change her style of music.
