The Bachelorette: Is Emily Maynard A Demanding Diva?

April 10, 2012 09:00 AM by Lisa Princ

Emily Maynard could not make up her mind about being on the new season of The Bachelorette, even telling the media that she felt like a hypocrite for taking the gig after saying that she would never do it. Is it possible that the sweet, single mom is actually nothing more than a demanding diva? That would make sense as to why she changed her mind, don’t you think? Now that we’ve got your curiosity going, read on to find out why Emily is being accused of being demanding!

Emily Maynard was the sweet, single mom, who won Brad Womack’s heart on season 15 of The Bachelor in March of 2011, but then the pair split in May of the same year. Okay, we thought that Emily Maynard was a sweet girl, but now rumors are buzzing that Emily is nothing more than a demanding diva. How so? Well, remember how Emily Maynard commented that she would never be on The Bachelorette, then suddenly changed her mind? Sources say that ABC wanted Emily so badly, they would do just about anything to get her – and Emily used that to her advantage!

“The producers have completely changed the format this season in order to meet Emily’s demands,” an insider told In Touch Magazine. Apparently, Emily wanted to make sure her season was very different than any others, so she started to dish out demands. The insider added: “She wanted only the best-looking, most mannered guys. If she doesn’t like a guy, he’s gone.” Rumor also has it that the blonde beauty demanded $250K to even take the gig on The Bachelorette.

So, now it is your turn to sound off. Is Emily Maynard a demanding diva? Comment and share your thoughts with us below!

Here is one of millions of Blondes that is not stupid. She has to provide for her child and made the deal so that she also doesn’t have to abandon her little one for weeks. In regard to asking for quality men she is only smartly matching her own potential. The fact that she could get the gig at her requirements only shows intelligence, maturity and responsibility as a single parent.
Not to mention the fact that the smart producers of the bachelorette realized that people are tired of drama, emotional chaos and dysfunction.
Everybody wins and the people who are bored with beaqutiful normalcy need to get sensitised to enjoy simple pleasures to again enjoy the beauty of nortmal life.

Considering the track record of this franchise, it’s no wonder she wants to change the format of her series. Instead of these “fantasy dates” that makes almost anyone “fall in love”, they should have more reality based dates where they are doing volunteer work together or as Kelly Ripa says, go to a Costco on a Saturday and be surrounded by screaming children and see how they react.

Despite the “screening” that goes on in choosing the bachelors in the past, Wes, Justin Rego and Bentley are just 3 examples of how they allow them to be on for the drama. Being a single mom, she wants to ensure that the men she has there are there for the right reasons which is to get to know her. If not, no use in wasting hers or their time. As for the alleged quarter mil, maybe that is how much the risk is worth to her and hey, if they are willing to pay it, why not?

Seriously, if wanting well mannered guys is the only “dirt” that they can throw at her, then she’s holding herself very well.

“You go girl” is all I can say! Good for Emily. That Franchise needs a “shot in the arm”. Especially after the Ben and Courtney fiasco!!!! Emily is a single mom and looking out for herself and her little girl is her priority I’m sure and so it should be. I wish her only the best!

Not surprised. I wasn’t fooled by her sweet Southern Belle persona. I knew there was a shrew in there somewhere and it came out in AFTR. Ok fair enough she wants the creme de la creme of men that’s fine and she has a child to support but seriously she was pretty wishy washy with Brad about moving to Austin. She could have turned him down, did the show and spare everyone her declaration that she did not want to be the Bachelorette. Sorry but I find her FAKE. Good luck to the guy she chooses.
