It was a dramatic Results Show on American Idol last night, as Jennifer Lopez bum-rushed the stage to announce that the judges would be using their one and only save for frontrunner Jessica Sanchez, before she even finished singing. But was the whole thing planned?
Insiders tell TMZ that before last night’s Results Show aired on FOX, producers were scrambling to let the judges know that they needed to use their “save.”
It’s not clear whether or not the judges were told that the Idol hopeful facing elimination was Jessica Sanchez, but according to the website, the producers had Sanchez favored to win and were as shocked at the results of America’s votes as they were when Jennifer Hudson was infamously given the boot years ago.
We know that there’s a lot that goes into the production of a reality competition, but is it really a competition if producers are so instrumental in the outcome?
What do you think RTVM: Was Jessica Sanchez’s overly dramatic save planned before the show? Should the show’s producers have any input at all on when the judges use their saves? Do you think the judges would have saved Jessica Sanchez regardless? Enough questions for ya?
