This week on NBC‘s Celebrity Apprentice, after Lou Ferrigno‘s firing, the teams are uneven, so it’s time to shake things up. How will the celebs manage their task with a new team dynamic? And will Aubrey and Arsenio finally work out their differences? (Is it wrong for us to hope that they don’t?!)
Tonight, the celebs will be putting on puppet shows…for adults. Not only will they perform in the shows, but they’ll also be a part of building the puppets.
Of course, there’s that matter of uneven teams….
To Aubrey’s delight, Clay Aiken will be moving to Team Forte, where Lisa’s going to serve as Project Manager; kind of an obvious choice considering the task.
For Team Unanimous, Paul’s taking the lead, but will the team do as well without Clay? So far, they are. Even Aubrey, who’s finally being a team player. And yes, Arsenio has noticed and loves the changes. The only problem for them may end up being Paul’s back.
Right off the bat, Lisa and Dayana are at odds about what they should do for their performance, but they’re hoping to get through this ONE task without any drama. Good luck.
It doesn’t take long before Lisa offends Dayana with her “Latin puppet,” but in front of the camera, Dayana manages to pull off a pretty spot on impression of Lisa. Maybe she should’ve been given a part in the show because THAT was hilarious.
After designing their puppets – a process that has Aubrey’s head about to explode as she watches her team waste time – both groups get a few pointers on how to work the improv stage.
On the day of the show, the tension is high, as Team Unanimous tries to prep Teresa, who doesn’t seem to have a clue about what’s going on (there are two syllables in the word “seven” Teresa; two), and Team Forte is about to implode, with Lisa flipping out on Dayana for complaining about not having more of a role in the performance.
Both Dayana and Lisa are in tears, but by the time they hit the stage (well, Lisa, anyway) everyone is all smiles and Penn gets the show off to a great start, followed by an almost flawless performance from Lisa and Clay. And Dayana did a really good job of um– watching.
Team Unanimous isn’t doing quite as well, with Teresa breaking the #1 rule of improv — say, “yes” to everything. Somehow, the crowd ends up falling in love with her though. But is it enough to win over the judges?
In the boardroom, Donald Trump immediately asks Dayana and Lisa about how they got along (not wasting any time on this one, huh?). After a brief exchange, Trump asks Lisa who she’s going to bring into the boardroom if her team loses, and she breaks into tears…again, admitting that she hasn’t really decided yet. As a comedian, her goal is to make people laugh, and being a “mean girl” and making Dayana cry isn’t something that she wants to be known for.
On the other side, Paul’s not exactly having any trouble making that decision. Without too much hesitation, he says that he’d bring Teresa back to the boardroom, but Teresa quickly defends herself.
The winner of the challenge is Team Forte, meaning Lisa’s finally bringing home some cash for her charity, Gay Men’s Health Crisis.
Facing elimination, Teresa thinks that it’s Paul who should be fired, but not just because of his back, because she says he complained about being there the entire time.
After a lot of dodging questions (these people should go into politics), Teresa, Aubrey, and Paul are brought back into the boardroom.
Why not Arsenio?
Paul just has a better relationship with him than he does Aubrey. Maybe if he brought Arsenio back, he would’ve had a better chance. But he didn’t, and for that reason — and a few others– Paul is fired.
