Not everyone’s happy about shock jock Howard Stern‘s new gig on America’s Got Talent this season; at least not Judd Apatow. After hearing one too may conversations about the NBC reality competition on Stern’s Sirius radio show, the Knocked Up director expressed his frustration on Twitter, unexpectedly igniting a brief feud with the big man himself. Things have since cooled off between the two, but is Judd Apatow right? Is Howard Stern doing too much talking about AGT these days?
“I hate to say it but I don’t have much interest in discussions about america’s got talent,” director Judd Apatow tweeted last week. “I tried. It is just too much synergy.”
The statement may not have been a big deal to Apatow, but for Stern, those were fightin’ words.
“I only spend half my like there. I won’t talk about it,” Stern replied sarcastically, adding, “Hey man, do I talk about that last s–tty film you made? I keep it to myself….If you’re not down with it, get the f–k off my channel.”
Judd then responded, again via Twitter, writing:
“All Of Our work is debated. That is part of it. I don’t get a free past [and neither] does he. My comment was not even interesting. It gets blown out of proportion by the press who has nothing to write about and Howard who has time to fill.”
According to the official Twitter page of Stern’s show, the beef between the two men has been squashed; mostly because of Apatow’s final comment on the matter: “I will love the show always. It was a pretty mild tweet.”
But do other fans of Stern feel the same?
Are you a fan of Howard Stern’s radio show? Do you agree with Judd Apatow — is there too much discussion about America’s Got Talent for you?
