It may have taken her a few months, but Jennifer Williams is fighting back after getting slapped in the face by Evelyn Lozada‘s assistant, Nia Crooks. The Basketball Wives star has filed a civil complaint against her former friend, alleging assault and battery. All the details after the jump.
We’re sure that even if you weren’t watch the April 16 episode of VH1‘s Basketball Wives, you could still hear the slap that Evelyn Lozada’s assistant, Nia Crooks planted across Jennifer Williams’ face. (All she wanted was the keys!)
Now, Jennifer is once again taking legal action, filing a civil complaint against Nia, alleging assault and battery, and claiming that she sustained “serious injuries,” and “suffered pain, shock [and] mental anguish” as a result of the January altercation.
“Violence used against any woman is wrong,” Williams tells Us. “I chose to use the justice system to fight back. If I can have a positive effect for women by fighting back with civil litigation it serves an important purpose.”
Yes, that and she also wants an unspecified amount of money from Crooks for damages.
Jennifer’s lawyer says that the reality star has also filed a criminal complaint in the state of Florida, where the fight took place.
