Carrie Underwood Leads CMT Nominations

April 23, 2012 11:19 AM by Shayla Perry

A big CONGRATS to American Idol alum Carrie Underwood! The former FOX reality contestant turned country music superstar is sitting pretty at the top of the list of nominees for the 2012 CMT Awards, with a whopping five nominations! Who else received a nod this year?

Carrie Underwood has been one busy lady since her days on American Idol. And what does she have to show for it? Five nominations in this year’s CMT Awards (you know, that and all the other awards she’s already won).

In addition to her nods for “Female Video,” “CMT Performance,” and “Collaborative Video of The Year,” Carrie is also up against herself in the “Video of The Year” category, with her “Good Girl” competing with “Remind Me;” a collaboration with Brad Paisley.

Voice mentor Miranda Lambert‘s video for “Over You” is also in the running, as one of the four nominations she’s received this year.

Good luck to both of them!

Fan voting for the 11th Annual CMT Awards begins today (April 23) on the network’s website (http://www.cmt.com), and will continue until June 4. And don’t worry, we’re pretty sure there won’t be any “saves” or “instant eliminations” to mess up the voting process.

The CMT Awards air live from Nashville on June 6. Will you be watching?
