The tables are turned on tonight’s episode of NBC’s new reality TV series, Fashion Star. The fashion designers take direction from the mentors who decide what will be created this week. The remaining clothiers must take a leap of faith and trust their mentors. Keep reading to find out who didn’t make a sale and has reached the end of the line!
The eight remaining designers include Orly Shani, Nikki Poulos, Ross Bennett, Sarah Parrott, Ronnie Escalante, Luciana Scarabello, Nzimiro Oputa and Kara Laricks.
The three mentors are Jessica Simpson, Nicole Richie and John Varvatos. The buyers are Nicole Christie from H&M, Terron Schaefer from Saks Fifth Avenue and Caprice Willard from Macy’s.
The competition is fierce with all of the clothiers hoping to make it until the end. Host Elle Macpherson announces that this week, the designers must make creations that the mentors suggest and present it to the buyers. If the buyers want to purchase the collection then the designers’ creations will be sold in their stores and on-line along with earning a spot in the competition moving forward. But, for those who do not make a deal–they’re at risk for elimination.
This week, Ross Bennett is asked to design a flowing gown and Kara Laricks makes a one-piece suit. Ross doesn’t get a bid but Kara gets a $100,000 offer from Saks Fifth Avenue–she’s been on a roll for weeks!
Next, the mentors take the designers on a little road trip. John Varvatos takes some of the designers to his store to show them his line; Nicole Richie takes others to one of her favorite vintage stores and Jessica takes the rest to her Jessica Simpson workshop.
Back on the runway, Sarah Parrott makes an elegant dress while Nzimiro Oputa designs a two piece suit. Neither Sarah nor Nzimiro receive a bid! During the fashion show Jessica Simpson says she doesn’t “hate” Sarah’s dress and John says it’s “Terrible.” Ouch!
John works with Orly Shani and she creates column dresses while Nicole tells Ronnie Escalante to be a “slut!” What she means is for him to embrace the task this week and really showcase his talents. She says his strength is in gowns so he designs evening dresses for the buyers. For the first time this season Orly gets the same bid from H&M and Saks Fifth Avenue but they are sticking to the bidding price so Orly must decide which store her cloths will be sold in and she picks H&M. Next, Ronnie gets a $50,000 offer from Macy’s.
Nikki Poulos is challenged by Nicole Richie to design a 60′s inspired mod mini dress while Jessica Simpson works with Luciana Scarabello who creates structured dresses. Nikki is super worried that the buyers are going to say they don’t like her dresses and send her home! Nikki’s fears could become a reality since she receives no offers. However, Luciana gets a $70,000 offer from H&M and is the first designer who has sold to all three stores!
The designers who didn’t make sales now face the possibility of elimination. The designers in the bottom four are Nikki, Sarah, Ross and Nzimiro. After talking it over, the mentors decide to save Nzimiro Poulos because they think he has a lot of potential. The designers in the bottom three now face the buyers one last time. After deliberating, the buyers decide to eliminate Sarah Parrott.
