Tonight on an all new episode of Bravo‘s Interior Therapy, Jeff Lewis and Jenni Pulos have managed to find yet another couple whose house is in desperate need of design. But this time, they aren’t exactly the problem…it’s the mother, who wears her dog in a baby carrier and decorated the whole house. (Needless to say, she doesn’t have a very youthful style.)
This week on Interior Therapy with Jeff Lewis, Kristen and her fiancee, Cash, are in need of some serious help. Kristen’s mother, Elizabeth, has been living with the couple since her husband died 5 years ago. When she moved in, it was a busy time in Kristen and Cash’s lives, so they allowed her to decorate the house for them. Obviously, not exactly a good idea; especially if you don’t want your house to look like a nursing home.
Enter Jeff and Jenni. And they couldn’t have come at a better time, with Kristen becoming increasingly irritated with her mother (and the dog), and Elizabeth feeling like her daughter doesn’t even love her anymore.
Once they get a good sense of the family dynamic and what the house needs done, they decide to tackle the living and dining rooms.
After getting started on the remodel, Jeff and the gang gather and finally get to the bottom of what’s really going on with Elizabeth.
Did we make a breakthrough?! It seems like it, at first, but as we’ve seen in just about every episode this season, furniture shopping brings out the worst in all of us!
Eventually, Elizabeth starts standing up for herself when Kristen’s criticism gets to be too much. Is Jeff in over his head?
Maybe we need to work on communicating a little better.
With a bit of mutual respect, Elizabeth starts to let go of her belongings, and is then empowered to finally sit down and have a talk with her daughter at the hotel as Jeff and the team finish up the job.
And when they do, Kristen, Cash, and even Elizabeth are amazed with the results.
