Sandra Diaz-Twine Weighs In On Survivor: One World

April 25, 2012 09:00 AM by Ryan Haidet

Did you think Troy’s plan to get Alicia and Christina to help vote Kim off was going to work during last week’s episode of Survivor: One World?  Would you have flipped and joined Troy’s alliance if you were them?  It seemed like a smart move to me because those two women are clearly outside of the alliance with Kim, Chelsea, Sabrina and Kat.  All this made me wonder, what would Sandra Diaz-Twine do?  So, I reached out to the only person to win Survivor twice to get her opinion on the strategic situation.

“If I were Alicia and Christina, I would have definitely jumped ship, but after watching the final votes, Tarzan wasn’t on board so it wouldn’t have helped them move forward much,” Sandra explained.  “Tarzan has got to go!”

Sandra said she is rooting for Troyzan because “he’s the underdog and he will have to continue to dominate to stay in the game.  But can he pull it off with so many folks against him?”

When I asked her if this season features the dumbest batch of castaways ever, Sandra responded: “There’s a few dummies in the bunch, but Troyzan and Kim have a clear idea of what they need to do to win this game. I love that Kim is in control and didn’t have to use her Idol although at Tribal Council her name came up, but she felt so safe that she didn’t even flinch.”

For those of you who may have forgotten, Sandra won seasons 7 and 20.

What do you think?  Should Alicia and Christina swapped sides to vote Kim out of the game with Troy last week?  Who are you rooting for?  Do you agree or disagree with Sandra?  Sound off and leave a comment below!

I’m disappointed in this season. It’s been very predictable and boring most of the time.

The “one world” scenario was stupid, imo. I think what they should do is eliminate the two tribe scenario and have everyone as part of one tribe, with teams for competitions being randomly drawn each time. That would create a lot of chaos, shifting alliances, and be much more interesting all the way to the end.

And yes, there are a lot of dummies on this season, who apparently can’t see what they need to do in order to advance. I include in this all the men who voted their fellow men off instead of sticking together, and Christina, who has been obviously the outcast (she was even told so) among the women, yet continues to believe their lies. They seem to blindly go to their destruction like lemmmings.

Of course, they’ve been doing that so much that it might be too late now. The only chance is if Troyzan continues to somehow escape elimination, but the odds are stacked very highly against him–too high, imo, so there’s no real interest there, even though the producers are trying to generate it with their promos.

Thanks for your comment, but our article is actually correct in saying Sandra is the only Survivor contestant to ever win two seasons — Survivor: Peark Islands and Survivor: Heroes Vs. Villains (seasons 7 and 20 repsectively).

In response to your comment about Parvati, she has only won a single season, which was Survivor: Micronesia — Fans Vs. Favorites (season 16). She came in sixth place on Survivor: Cook Islands and second place on Survivor: Heroes Vs. Villains, which Sandra beat her on.

Here’s my interview on the red carpet with Sandra after she won for the second time: http://realitytvmagazine.sheknows.com/2010/05/19/survivor-heroes-vs-villains-sandra-wins-again/

    RE: Hanna

Actually Hanna, Ryan is correct, and Sandra Diaz Twine is the queen of Survivor, winning Pearl Islands (where she met Rupert and Jonny Fairplay the first time)and Heroes Vs. Villains (where she competed against Parvati and Russell).

    Nice hearing from Sandra!
