The Voice Recap: Three Guys, A Girl & One Really Bad Spray Tan

May 07, 2012 08:04 PM by Shayla Perry

In a night of great performances from the final four contestants of The Voice, it’s unfortunate that what stood out the most was Christina Aguilera‘s alarmingly over-tanned hands. What else did you miss? All the highlights from the hit NBC reality show after the jump.

Tonight’s Live show was dripping with packaged footage, but aside from that and the lovefest between the coaches and their finalists, there actually were some pretty good performances.

Not the best we’ve seen this season, but pretty good nonetheless.

The exception, Jermaine Paul‘s “I Believe I Can Fly,” which got him a standing ovation from teary-eyed Xtina (don’t get excited, she cried a LOT tonight), and had coach Blake Shelton‘s heart in his throat.

Other performances of note were Tony Lucca‘s foot stompin’ rendition of Jay Z‘s “99 Problems” (loved it!) and basically everything from Chris [middle name "The"] Mann.

Could he be the one to beat?

(And by the way, that’s about 5% shadow, and 95% spray tan in that picture of Christina’s hands!)

Going into tonight’s finale, most people had essentially crowned Juliet Simms the winner, but as luck would have it (for the guys), Simms — and Christina, as she often reminded us — had some health issues which affected her first two performances.

Unfortunately (again, for the guys), Juliet was able to rebound for her final song, “Free Bird,” and of course, she killed it, leaving a lasting impression on the crowd and more importantly, voters!

As Cee Lo and his t-shirt said, with Juliet Simms repping the Red Zone, he has “No Problems” tonight, as opposed to Tony Lucca and Adam’s 99.

Will the former Mouseketeer finally get his big break? Will Adam Levine‘s gamble pay off? Did anyone else notice that Christina called Tony’s son a girl?!

If tonight taught us anything — other than the pitfalls of sunless tanning — it’s that this competition is anyone’s to win. And that, my friends, is up to you. For real this time.

Who will win it all — Tony Lucca, Jermaine Paul, Juliet Simms, or Chris Mann? Tune in for tomorrow’s season finale to find out. Until then, tell us who you think will be the last two artists standing.
