Tony Lucca and Christina Aguilera have some history, having co-starred in Disney’s reboot of The Mickey Mouse Club back in the day (as NBC constantly reminds us). But despite their connection, it seems that the two have been engaged in an unspoken war on The Voice. From describing him as “one-dimensional” to calling him out on his latest song choice, Xtina’s had very few positive comments for Lucca. But will her words actually help him win the competition?
Ironically, Aguilera’s snubs against Tony Lucca have helped him make it to the finale; along with his undeniable talent.
Without Christina’s harsh critiques, there’s a chance that Lucca and coach Adam Levine never would have tweaked their song choices.
Is Tony Lucca a one-dimensional artist?
Of course not. But would we have known that if Christina hadn’t made those brutally honest comments?
For that (and for eliminating Jesse Campbell), Tony and Adam have Christina to thank.
And while some think that Aguilera’s slam of Lucca’s decision to cover “99 Problems” may cost him the competition, the truth is, it’s more likely to have the opposite effect.
Will it help him win it all, or will Jermaine Paul, Chris Mann, or Juliet Simms take home the top prize?
There’s only one way to find out!
Tune in to the season finale of The Voice tonight on NBC.
