American Idol Results Recap: Jennifer Lopez Shows Off Her Boy Toy Before Another Painful Elimination

May 10, 2012 06:30 PM by Lisa Princ

Last week, the final remaining Country artist, Skylar Laine, was eliminated from American Idol, just shy of the final four. This week, the Top 4 were shaking in their boots as they awaited the news of who would be moving on to the top 3. Did your favorite make the cut? Read on for all the highlights!

Ah, we are getting closer and closer to the finale of American Idol on Fox, and as you know, the closer we get, the harder the eliminations become – as do the elimination shows. Does anyone else feel like these are the most dragged out 60 minutes on television? I mean, Ryan Seacrest spent more time telling the finalists that they had to wait it out on the couch until the last 10 minutes of the show..arg.

What were the highlights of the dragged out, boring elimination show? The performances! Season 7 winner, David Cook took the stage with a performance of his brand new single, The Last Song I’ll Write For You. It was a beautiful, powerful performance that once again proved to us the voters of season 7 definitely got it right! Yeah, I am always up for some David Cook! And then there was J-LO and her new man boy toy, Casper Smart. Jennifer Lopez was smoking hot in a skintight catsuit as she performed her latest tune, Dance Again, with Casper as one of the back up dancers. And just when we thought they were going to keep things mum, he stroked her hair at the end, leaving J-LO to gush: “He’s so cute.”

Jimmy Iovine blabbered about all the contestants for a bit, and then declared that he could not pick this season’s winner, even though he “knew” Scotty McCreery was going to win last year – does anyone remember that, because I don’t remember him picking Scotty. When it was finally time for Joshua Ledet, Phillip Phillips, Jessica Sanchez, and Hollie Cavanaugh to hear their results, I was pretty sure I knew who was going home this week, as most of you probably were also. And I was right, a tear-filled Hollie Cavanaugh did not win over enough voters to keep her in the competition.

So there you have it, your top 3 on American Idol are Phillip Phillips, Jessica Sanchez, and Joshua Ledet! What do you think of the top 3? Did America get it right? Comment and share your thoughts with us below!

The Top 3 is more like the Top 2 – Jessica and Joshua because Philip has no business being there. He’s irritating to listen to and only the teenyboppers voting for his looks (which is not what Idol is all about) is the only thing that keeps him safe. I would be happy if Joshua or Jessica won.

    Wrong by FAR

Hollie’s VOICE was the best on the show.

for some reason, the judges did not like her!

I don’t care who wins now

This is the VERY WORST season of Idol

To be honest I don’t care who wins Idol this year, I have not connected to any of them! I find Philip very hard to listen to, I don’t understand the hype about him. The other 3 have really great voices but there seems to be something missing with all of them and I find myself switching off and not really listening.

I’d love 2 see Jessica & Joshua in the Grand Final. Philip is so boring b’coz I found that he loves to carry a guitar every time he perform on stage. So….I think he should face elimination nxt wk.

America got it right. Although Hollie has a nice voice, she didn’t have the stage presence to make her an “idol”. She should have a nice studio career, but won’t be a good “show”. An “idol” is one who can combine both the voice and stage charisma, and Joshua and Jessica are much more of the total package.

    Jessica will win. Definitely.
