Dancing With The Stars Live Results Recap: Baby’s Got Back – A Tale of Tight Asses and Crazy Laughter
May 15, 2012 07:23 PM by Candace Young
Last night’s performances heralded what Len Goodman called ‘the best semi-final ever’ on Dancing With The Stars. The competitors are only separated by three points on the leaderboard! No matter who is eliminated tonight, it will be a shock and a difficult goodbye. Keep reading to find out the results and whether or not Katherine’s back injury will put her out of the running…
William Levy and Cheryl Burke heat things up right off the bat with their encore dance – I had no idea a man who wasn’t Maks Chmerkovskiy could look so hot in tight white pants and a hot pink silk shirt!
There’s an update on Katherine Jenkin’s back injury – she’s going to be okay to continue if she gets through. Right then, Katherine and Mark Ballas learn they are going to the finals! Screaming ensues, and Katherine forgets her back issues long enough to bounce up and down. Mark carries her triumphantly around the floor. Tom Bergeron wryly observes that he’s no doctor – but her back looks better now!
They go to the pros for some commentary on who might win. Derek Hough says it’s way too close to call. True talk.
Alanis Morissette performs Guardian live. It’s excellent! Blake McGrath of So You Think You Can Dance fame takes the floor with a female partner to do a crisp lyrical dance – nice!
Maria Menounos and Derek Hough are next on the hot seat – despite being at the top of the leaderboard last night, they discover they are in jeopardy! Intense.
Julianne Hough plugs her new movie with Tom Cruise, Rock Of Ages. Let me know how it is, if you go. Love Julianne, but casting Cruise in the lead as a long-haired rock star guaranteed my absence from the theater. Anyway, they do an 80′s montage performance featuring Julianne and Mary J. Blige. It’s sing-along city!
American Idol winner, Carrie Underwood takes the stage to perform Good Girl. She sounds amazing, but the dress has to go – think blue/purple/green stained glass window with Spiderman’s web flung over it. I just know this girl secretly yearns to be a rock star.
William Levy and Cheryl Burke, and Donald Driver and Peta Murgatroyd await their fates now. We watch flashbacks of their journeys with plenty of shots of Donald and William’s fine physiques and perfect butts. Tom intones…”William and Cheryl, you’re in…the final!” Donald and Peta are in jeopardy.
It’s all down to votes now. After much dramatic tension, and Tom saying whichever way this goes it’s going to suck, it’s revealed that Maria and Derek will not be in the final. The subdued crowd boos, and a montage of Maria’s journey, featuring her signature crazy donkey laugh, rolls.
Your Dancing With The Stars finalists are: Katherine Jenkins and Mark Ballas, William Levy and Cheryl Burke, and Donald Driver and Peta Murgatroyd.
Are you happy with the way this turned out? Do you think the best dancers are vying for the Mirror Ball trophy? Sound off!
