Dancing With The Stars Finale Kicks Off Tonight – Who Will Take Home The Mirror Ball Trophy?

May 21, 2012 10:00 AM by Lisa Princ

This season on ABC’s Dancing with the Stars, we have seen some of the best ever to compete, so it’s hard to even imagine who will walk away the winner. Someone has to take it though, and tonight we will watch as Donald Driver, William Levy, and Katherine Jenkins take the stage one more time for your votes. Who deserves to win it all? More after the jump!

This season has been extraordinary on Dancing With The Stars, and honestly, it’s hard to even choose which one of the remaining three stars deserves to win, because they are all so good. Tonight, the finale kicks off as Donald and Peta Murgatroyd will be perform the Argentine Tango, William Levy and Cheryl Burke will tackle the Cha Cha Cha, and Katherine Jenkins and Mark Ballas will dance the Paso Doble. And then there is the beloved Freestyle routine that each couple will tackle for their second performance – is anyone else excited to see what they do for the Freestyle tonight?

Which one these three deserves to win? There is Katherine Jenkins, who has been a front runner all season long, William Levy, who has all the ladies smitten with his moves, and Donald Driver, who has shown great improvement over the course of the season. While we can’t say who will walk away with the mirror ball tomorrow, one thing is for sure – it’s going to be an excitement filled fight to the finish! The couples will also perform a “24 hour” routine on Tuesday, in which the judges will score them once again, so you all need to make sure you vote tonight!

I will be satisfied no matter who wins tonight. Although I wish Maria had not been cut. I thought she was fabulous.

Because it is so close, I am pulling for Katherine. We have had football players walk away with the trophy and as for the “ladies man”, he is good but Katherine is so very elegant and deserving!

As a trained Fred Astaire dancer, I’m eyeballing Katherine to cop the Mirror Ball Trophy. She is the entire package.

Dance competitions are about stage presence, skill and technique.

Hope America gets it right tonight.

Well, we see that DWTS still has not learned their lesson.

This is a dancing competition, not a popularity contest.

If they keep letting the good dancers go home and letting the low scores stay, the views will just keep tuning out as they are doing.

DWTS ratings have been going down each season for the last 3 seasons with this as the #1 compliant.

As proven in all elections (city, presidential, etc.), voting is very un-realistic. so leaving the results up to voting is wrong.

Let the voters have maybe a 25-30% voice, not a 50% so the good dancers will always stay.

And right now, how can the highest scoring dancers get sent home if the voting is 50%. at most it should only be able to lower there marks by a few points, not take the front runner and put them in the bottom.

Just my humble views, and if not fixed we too will be tuning out!

Rooting for Katherine and Mark! They are the best. They are the most humble couple, and I believe they are working the hardest because they want it the most. GO TEAM KMARK!

As lovely and talented as Katherine is, my votes will be going to Donald Driver.

He is the most improved, and has worked so hard every week, not really getting the scores he deserved from “The Judges”..at least from Len Goodman!

He is prepared every week, never gives up (the athlete)and has a “winning” smile, making us all smile, watching him enjoying the whole competition!

I want him to win for all these reasons and more!

    Good Luck Peta & Donald!!!

I think it should only be the Judges, otherwise it is just popularity of the viewers, BUT if you leave it to the viewers, then they should only vote once for the person they do not want. That way it is not a popularity contest and seem fair.

well the voting is 50% percent judges 50% fans the problem is sometiimes with the good dancers on the show they have a poor week and don’t get enough votes so they go home or they have an awsome week and people go oh their going to be safe they don’t need my votes and thye go vote for another dancer and sometimes the really good dancers go home because too many people did not vote for them and although yes saying we will quit watching sounds good but it doesn’t hurt them they have 20 million people watching round the world even if the whole state of California stopped watching it wouldn’t hurt the show that’s just my take on it

The show is wonderful but hats off to Tom Bergeron. He really helps make the show what it is. He is an absolute natural and I can’t imagine Dwts without him. He makes me laugh!
