Last night’s Dancing With The Stars performance show ended up with Katherine Jenkins and Mark Ballas topping the leaderboard with a perfect score of ’60′, but William Levy and Cheryl Burke brought the sexy, and Donald Driver and Peta Murgatroyd turned in an unexpected freestyle performance that finally won Donald a ’10 from Len’! Keep reading for highlights of tonight’s final three performances and to find out who will snag the Mirror Ball Trophy!
The Season 14 cast reunites for a dance to kick off the night on Dancing With The Stars. It’s definitely one of the closest ever finals – I’d actually be fine with any of them winning, though Katherine and Donald have been consistently the best dancers all the way through.
Donald and Peta do an encore performance of their freestyle dance from last night. The outfits are still horrible and the footwork a bit wild, but it’s fun and unexpected. Love it!
The finalists are all brought out for some dramatic talk, and then Sherri Shepherd comes out to dance to It’s Raining Men. She’s clearly in her glory with about 8 male dancers, including Val, lifting and carrying her around the dance floor!
Backstage, the finalists are warming up for their last performance. William tells Brooke Burke, who asks if it’s bittersweet, that it’s sweet and sour! Haha! Adorable!
Martina Navratilova comes out to dance again, followed by Gavin DeGraw. After, Brooke checks in with Katherine and Mark, who will do a jive tonight. They rehearsed until 1 AM!
Gladys Knight takes the spotlight to dance – she’ll sing later – followed by Jaleel White, who does a pasa doble to the Shaft theme-song in a black rubber trenchcoat – suave!
Brooke talks to Donald and Peta who are decked out in bright pink and practicing their cha cha cha. They aim to please.
Melissa Gilbert returns in sexy black with for a Chmerkovskiy sandwich re-do! This time the dance ends with their hands on her butt – fantasy fodder! Roshon and Chelsea follow with a peppy routine – they’re so cute!
Kelly Clarkson performs a medley of her hits. She looks fantastic – love how this girl owns her figure. The judges fist pump to Stronger. After, Maria Menounos and Derek Hough are back to do a sexy tango – the crowd loves it.
This is it, William and Cheryl’s last dance. It’s – what else – a salsa, performed in sassy yellow satin. William is all kinds of sexy and powerful. Bruno has a conniption behind the judges’ panel! He gyrates as he enthuses, “Hot, spicy, sexy salsa - nobody does it better than William!” William gives him a slightly strange look, but smiles. Carrie Ann and Len are equally as complimentary, though not as flamboyant. They score a perfect ‘30‘!
Katherine and Mark, in jaunty tangerine, are up next with their jive to Splish Splash. Marks’s exaggerated perkiness is hysterical! The routine is awesome – flawless! Bruno waxes on about Katherine being a blonde bombshell and the girl who has it all. Carrie Ann credits Katherine for setting the bar so high this season. Len calls her the complete package. They also score ‘30‘!
Tom Bergeron jokes that they may have to sedate Sherri Shepherd as he introduces Donald and Peta for their cha cha cha. Donald doffs his shirt immediately and sexes up Carrie Ann with it. He’s all man – even dancing in pink heels! The routine is very sensual. Carrie Ann, wearing Donald’s shirt, declares him the one to beat. Len says no one’s a loser tonight, and adds that Donald is the best footballer they’ve had. Bruno crowns him ‘Donald the Magnificent’! It’s another perfect ‘30‘!
Gladys Knight sings The Way We Were before Tom and Brooke announce the couple in third place – it’s William and Cheryl.
Finally, it’s time for the winner of the Mirror Ball Trophy to be revealed – the new champions of Dancing With The Stars are…Donald and Peta!
