Nicole ”Snooki” Polizzi recently cut ties with her licensing company — she may want to do the same with her old man. She faces a $7 million lawsuit with the company she broke her contract with, and an email from her father isn’t helping her case.
In 201o, Snooki partnered with licensing company SRG to launch a slew of Snooki-related products (beer cozies, trashy lingerie?).
In October of the following year, she ended the contract, claiming that the company didn’t do enough to fulfill their side of the deal. SRG followed suit by filing suit — for $7 million in damages against the Jersey Shore star and her management company, claiming she sabotaged their efforts by negotiating deals behind their back and deliberately ruining the deals they presented her with. Then again, maybe she was just being herself.
One such example was the reality star’s 2010 arrest for public intoxication, which soured deals with brands like Macy’s, Target and Disney (imagine a Snooki princess line), which did not want their image sullied with such an association.
Making matters worse for Snooki, the company produced an email that her father, Andy Polizzi, sent to the them a mere month before they got the axe. In that email, Polizzi says, “I as Nicole want to thank you for all that has been done to this point … I feel we have a good team, and I just want to make it a better one so we all prosper along with (N)icole gaining fortune and fame. I think she is the hottest thing on the market right now, and we need to gain all we can with that so I can set her up for life if this ever ends, which I hope it doesn’t.”
Dad, you’re not helping.
