Divorce Settlement Close for Kim Kardashian

May 23, 2012 11:00 AM by Gina Hall

The divorce has outlasted the marriage for Kim Kardashian and Kris Humphries, but the “couple” is close to finalizing a settlement.

As America still reels, trying to figure out what went wrong with the couple’s 72-day marriage, Kim Kardashian and the NBA player are a little bit closer to figuring out how to divvy up the loot. In addition,  Kris Humphries is reportedly tired of the ribbing he takes from fellow hoopsters.

“It’s got really nasty since Kim went public with her affair with Kanye (West),”  a longtime friend of the Humphries family told the Chicago Sun-Times. It was unclear if the friend kept a straight face when using the word “affair.”

“Kris finally realizes he can no longer keep fighting city hall,” the source said.

“The Kardashians are just too powerful and have too much money to fight him with.”

On the bright side for Kris, however, is the fact that he  likely won’t be paying alimony to the co-star of “Keeping up with the Kardashians.” Not so clear is whether the New Jersey Nets star (not an on-the-court star, of course — whatever fame he has is the result of his short-lived marriage to a tabloid star) will collect any cash in the settlement.

Kris is on the record as saying that he was not looking to reap any financial benefits from Kim Kardashian. Maybe he didn’t hear about the multi-million payout the cast got when the show was renewed.

A piece of advice, Kris: Take the money — LeBron James you ain’t.

This guy was about the money from the get go. I would bet in Vegas that he will walk away with a hefty settlement(which I feel he doesn’t deserve). He claims the show was staged and he was being told what to say, so that means he was a part of the charade as well. He didn;t complain at the time because he was getting paid. What I think he’s upset about is that the money train came to a halt. Whenever I hear his team say he was “blindsided”, makes me think that he didn’t expect Kim to put a stop to being treated poorly. The man was an ogre. He thought that he would have control the way his father has control over his mom but I don’t think he did his homework as to who Kim was.She made more money than him so she didn’t need him to support her.
