ABC‘s Duets star and American Idol alum Kelly Clarkson has a problem that’s “killing” her, but it’s not a bad one to have…not necessarily. What’s going on, and will it make her “Stronger“? Keep reading for the scoop!
After being single for what seems like forever, Kelly Clarkson is finally dating again. Actually, she’s been with Nashville talent manager Brandon Blackstock, 35, since late 2011.
And now that she’s found love, it seems that Clarkson has lost her mojo.
“It’s killing me,” the songstress tells People. “I’m trying to write a tough song and it is coming out like butterflies and rainbows.”
“People used to ask, ‘Why are you single?’ and I’d say, ‘It is not in my schedule.’” Kelly explains to reporters. “I’m in a relationship right now and I have time for it. I never used to.”
But is the relationship really worth it if Clarkson says it’s “ruining” her creativity?! We’re sure her answer to that would be a resounding, “Hell yes!”
The next single from her fifth album, Stronger, may be titled “Darkside,” but according to Kelly, she’s feeling far from sad and gloomy these days, thanks to Brandon (who happens to be Reba McEntire‘s stepson).
“People are going to be like, ‘What the hell happened to you?’ It has been really difficult. I love it. It’s an awesome problem to have,” she gushes.
Catch Kelly Clarkson and all of her butterflies and rainbows on the 2-hour season premiere of Duets, Thursday, May 24 on ABC at 8|7c.
