The lyrics to Kelly Clarkson’s hit song Stronger may refer to a nasty breakup, but the main hook could also apply to the beautiful singer’s new fitness regimen. In an interview with Life and Style, Clarkson talks about her weight and body image. While Clarkson has always been a beautiful woman and a great singer, she has struggled with a yo-yo weight pattern over the last several years. Right now, the yo-yo appears to be on the low end. This was evident last week, when the American Idol alum impressed millions of viewers with her sensational voice and impressive weight loss during the premiere of Duets.
In her interview with Life and Style, Kelly Clarkson chatted about her weight and what motivated her to drop the extra pounds. Most fans would assume that Kelly Clarkson’s weight loss had something to do with her new job on the reality show Duets, but Clarkson adamantly denies such rumors. ”I didn’t lose weight for work. I did it for me!”
Nice sentiment, but Kelly Clarkson’s weight loss appears to have had a bit more at play. The singer admits that, yes, new boyfriend Brandon Blackstone has been a motivating factor. ”No one wants to be untoned when you’re dating someone.” Clarkson began her fitness journey with Blackstone at her side, but soon found that she preferred working out alone. Why? “I don’t like huffin’ and puffin’ in front of my man and looking all red and gross and sweaty.”
It’s good to see Kelly Clarkson at the Duets premiere, flaunting a “stronger” body and a positive attitude. Hopefully, she can continue to maintain such an outlook, with or without Brandon Blackstone by her side.
