America’s Got Talent is a big hit and with good reason: the reality show features awe-inspiring feats and plenty of juicy drama. Read more to find out!
America’s Got Talent hit the big time last night, earning itself the highest rating of any of the shows aired on ABC, NBC, CBS or Fox. With a 3.2 rating and over 12 million total viewers, the show appears to be attracting its fair share of attention this summer. Typically, shows will enjoy a great premiere episode and then rating will slump a bit, but the opposite has bee the case for America’s Got Talent. In fact, the show’s viewership is currently up by 2.1 million from the beginning of the season. All this, despite the heavily anticipated premiere of Hell’s Kitchen this week.
Interestingly enough, the 12.1 million viewership achieved this week by America’s Got Talent is the highest total number of viewers for any network show since the season finale of American Idol in May. This high viewership is seen across the board in a variety of demographics, including men and women ages 18-49, children ages 2-11 and teens aged 12-17. Goes to show, America’s Got Talent is one of the few programs you can watch with children, parents and grandparents in the same room and without worrying about any of the age groups being dissatisfied.
