What tasty treat is commonly mistaken as a chesse? Ricotta of-course! Well, that answer is what prevented one team from wining $10,000! On tonight’s episode of Around the World in 80 Plates the chefs head to Italy where they visit two beautiful cities. With the number of chefs dwindling down on the Bravo reality TV show they must again reshuffle teams but this time there’s a major shake up! Keep reading to find out what happens.
This is a game of skills and strategy. The winner will receive $150,000 and a brand new Infiniti JX Luxury Crossover. Celebrity chefs Curtis Stone and Cat Cora are the hosts who take viewers on an up close and personal tour of the world. The eight remaining chefs include Steve Postal (aka “Nookie”), Nicole Lou, Nick Lacasse, Liz Garrett, John Vermiglio, Jenna Johansen, Gary Walker and Avery Pursell.
Gary and Nick are the new team captians but the catch–they have to chose team members for the other person’s team! Gary gets Liz, John and Jeanna. Nick gets Nicole, Nookie and Avery.
First up the chefs head to Florence where the Course begins with a scavenger hunt. The chefs truly get a firsthand experience on the traditions of the local cuisine.
With their new teams they must figure what tasty treat is commonly mistaken as a chesse? The answer is ricotta but it takes Gary’s team a long time to figure it out. Finally, both teams end up harvesting olives.
Nick’s team wins the $10,000 and the exceptional ingredient–a special cooking lesson with an Italian grandmother. Both teams will be working in gorgeous villas up in the hills of Tuscany. In order to create Tuscan cuisine for the Takeover, Nick’s team gets a one-on-one meeting with a grandmother to discuss the dishes.
The next morning John is up in the kitchen bright and early and accidentally knocks over the dish Gary needs to cook twice! This is not good. John confesses to his team what happened. Things aren’t improving much for this team. In the kitchen the dough Liz makes doesn’t work in the pasta maker and Jenna says they won’t be able to use it. Liz simply answers ok which aggravates Jenna because Liz has immunity!
In the end, the diners like Nick’s team’s four course traditional Tuscan meal. Nicole also wins immunity. Gary’s time on the competition comes to an end and he is voted off.
