“View-mageddon” all started Wednesday afternoon when Bravo ladies Teresa Giudice, Melissa Gorga, and Kathy Wakile were filming. According to a source for The New York Daily News, producers wanted “Teresa Giudice, Melissa George [sic], and Kathy Wakile to appear together on a segment they taped for Friday’s show [of The View], but the idea was nixed by Giudice.” The source continues, “the table-flipper requested her own segment, and producers accommodated her because they ‘didn’t want the other cast members to attack her.’” How did Melissa respond?
According to the source, Melissa “flipped” and said into a cell phone “our plan is ruined… so we have to come up with another way to take her down.” Apparently during Teresa’s separate segment, View co-hosts Whoopi Goldberg and Elizabeth Hasselbeck were shocked to hear Teresa describe the way sister-in-law Melissa and cousin Kathy went behind Teresa’s back to appear on The Real Housewives of New Jersey.
Not exactly, says Melissa George a source for US Weekly. Although Whoopi was absent during Melissa and Kathy’s segment, it wasn’t anything personal. There just wasn’t enough chairs, says the insider. “Whoopi doesn’t really watch reality TV and had no idea what the Melissa and Teresa feud was about. Whoopi was unfamiliar with the situation.” The source also denies that Melissa was planing on taking Teresa down.
Rob Shuter of The Huffington Post adds per his insider: “Originally The View booked three ladies and made it clear they wanted Teresa and Melissa and didn’t care who was the third. The plan was to do two segments: the first an honest conversation about their lives and the second as a more light hearted one. However, Teresa refused to appear with Melissa and after many conversations, it was decided Teresa would sit down with all the hosts and then Melissa and Kathy would be interviewed by Barbara Walters, Joy Behar and Elizabeth Hasselbeck.” When Barbara Walters asked why Teresa was filming alone, Teresa said she didn’t want to confront her family on a camera, and Barbara responded: “You do everything in front of a camera!”
Doesn’t sound like the ladies are really making an effort to be a family, as they so often proclaim what they want to do. Do you think Melissa flipped out that Teresa got her own segment? Do you think Teresa manipulated her way to get her own segment? Will you be watching The View this morning to watch what happens?
