“View-maggedon” started with rumors that Teresa Giudice and Melissa Gorga of The Real Housewives of New Jersey were feuding backstage on The View. Part 2 involves the Bravo ladies giving their rendition of Gorga vs. Giudice to the ladies of The View, with Teresa Giudice giving her side of the story in her own segment and Kathy Wakile and Melissa Gorga giving their take in their own segment. What happened? Watch the video below.
In this video from ABC of Teresa, Teresa explains that she doesn’t feel comfortable sitting next to her sister-in-law and cousin since they haven’t spoken to each other in months, and trying to resolve her family issues in front of an audience for a few minutes wasn’t appropriate. That makes sense. Barbara Walters countered that they do “everything in front of audience!” Also a valid point. Barbara asked if Teresa would sign up for The Real Housewives of New Jersey next year, to which Teresa hem and hawed for a bit, but it came across as: “Yeah! Of course I would do it if I want to. I signed up for it first!” Teresa also brought up that Kathy and Melissa signed up behind her back.
“Nu-uh!” said Melissa in her segment with Kathy. Melissa denied that she signed up for the show without Teresa’s knowledge. I’m pretty sure it’s common knowledge that Kathy and Melissa did sign up for the show without Teresa’s knowledge until the tail end of the casting process and certainly without her consent. In fact, Teresa’s rep offered an official statement on the casting process of RHONJ:
To be clear, Teresa Giudice was never informed at any time by her sister-in-law, cousin or brother that they were taking meetings to join the cast of The Real Housewives of New Jersey until after they signed their deals. . . Teresa finally received a phone call from her family after all of their contracts were finalized a mere two days before filming was set to commence with the surprising news that they joined the cast. (For complete statement, click here.)
When asked if the ladies were jealous of Teresa, Melissa responded: “Absolutely not! We have different brands.” (LOL to any Housewife implying they are a brand.) Kathy said she has tried to reconcile with Teresa, but notes that Teresa doesn’t even want to sit next to her on The View. When Barbara asked if the ladies would return to the show next year, Melissa responded by being evasive with a very skilled speech that started with: “Barbara, I don’t get where I am today by being bullied.” She then discussed how beautiful her life is and what a wonderful marriage she has to share with the world, so of course she should return.
So what you think of The View feud, RTVM? Should Teresa have interviewed alone? What do you think about what Melissa had to say about the casting process?
