Ever since the Austin audition for America’s Got Talent aired, all focus has been on Timothy Poe, the singer who fibbed about his military background. A week later, Howard Stern took the opportunity to voice his thoughts about the AGT debacle on his radio show. What does Stern think of as the proper fate for Tim Poe? Keep reading to find out!
Howard Stern may find Tim Poe’s lies “despicable,” but that does not mean that he wants the singer to be immediately kicked off of America’s Got Talent. Stern’s reasoning? The shock jock would prefer it if America’s Got Talent chose to take a more democratic route. While discussing the matter on his radio show this morning, Stern admitted a certain level of distaste for reality shows that manipulate results by kicking off controversial contestants. “I always kind of resented American Idol when they would pull someone out because of a drug sandal or an arrest.”
So, what should be done about Timothy Poe? Howard Stern thinks that the singer’s fate is best left to the viewers of America’s Got Talent. ”I do hope that the TV show America’s Got Talent doesn’t boot him off. I hope that they show what happens in Vegas…if he doesn’t make it, show that reality, and if he makes it through Vegas, let America vote about him.”
Tim Poe has already told his side of the story, but America’s Got Talent fans might get to hear more in the near future. Howard Stern is hoping to have him on the radio for an interview. Stay tuned!
