Remember Glee Project winners Damian McGinty, Alex Newell, Samuel Larsen and Lindsay Pearce? These four talented singers were lucky enough to land spots in the third season of Glee. Their future on the popular Fox show is not set in stone, but all four are hoping for a season 4 return. Read more to learn their thoughts on the Glee experience.
Now that The Glee Project is in its second season, the original winners are watching the new contestants with interest. According to Fox, there will only be one role available for which the newbies will have to compete. Last year’s contestants were luckier, with four of the top competitors landing small roles on Glee. Whether those roles will still be around next season remains to be seen.
Glee Project champs Damian McGinty, Sameul Larsen, Lindsay Pearce and Alex Newell recently gathered with Glee mastermind Ryan Murphy and casting director Robert Ulrich to speak about what they learned while competing on The Glee Project and then performing on Glee. All four Glee Project alums had great things to say about their time working with Ryan Murphy. And all four are eager to make a return if at all possible.
Damian McGinty is especially enthusiastic about staying on next season, although he’s accepted the possibility that it won’t happen. “The last 18 months have been the best time of my life, and I will accept whatever happens and I will move on or I would love to stay on the show.”
After offering their thoughts on the Glee experience, the four winners gave the crowd at the TV Academy in North Hollywood a first-hand demonstration of their magnificent talent. Based on this spectacular performance, it really would be a shame to see any one of the Glee Project alums be axed from Glee this fall.
