Carrie Underwood Is A Proud Supporter Of Gay Marriage – Thanks To Her Marriage

June 14, 2012 02:00 PM by Lisa Princ

American Idol alum Carrie Underwood is a good ole Christian gal, but did you know that she also supports gay marriage? It was in fact, her own marriage that attributed to her feeling so strongly about it. Read on for more!

It’s no secret that American Idol‘s Carrie Underwood is a Christian girl, but did you know that she fully supports marriage equality? Speaking to a British newspaper recently, Carrie revealed: “As a married person myself, I don’t know what it’s like to be told I can’t marry somebody I love and want to marry,” adding: “Above all, God wanted us to love others. It’s not about setting rules, or (saying) ‘everyone has to be like me.’”

Now, one thing that Carrie does not agree with is those who use the Bible to preach hate, adding “that’s not how I want myself as a Christian to be represented.” The 29-year-old country star revealed that the church she attends with husband, Mike Fisher is a “gay friendly” church. Underwood then reiterated that it’s how we are different that makes us all special, and “we have to love each other and get on with each other. It’s not up to me to judge anybody.”

Kudos to Carrie Underwood for sharing her thoughts on gay marriage! What are your thoughts on the controversial subject? Do you agree or disagree with Carrie? Comment and sound off to us below!

Carrie Underwood is entitled to her opinion just like I am and every one else. Her opinion is neither right nor wrong; it’s simply how she feels about something. For the life of me I cannot understand why her opinion on any subject matter who generate so much hate. She’s not asking any one to agree with her; it’s simply how she feels. Personally, I feel that if you find true love in your lifetime then that makes you incredibly lucky. No one should care who that love is with.

I don’t know what Bible she’s reading but it’s not the one inspired by God. He himself said it’s wrong and if He said it’s wrong, it’s wrong. Read it for yourself. After all, when you stand before Him on Judgement Day, you’re gonna be answering for no one but yourself. And that’s MHO!
