Life’s A Tripp for Bristol Palin, and it’s about to get a lot more interesting. ABC‘s Dancing With The Stars alum is being sued over her new Lifetime reality show. What’s going on? All the details after the jump.
A source close to Bristol Palin, confirms that the 21-year-old single mom and reality star is being sued by none other than Stephen Hanks.
We know… Who’s Stephen Hanks?!
Mr. Hanks is the man who was caught on camera heckling Palin last September at a West Hollywood bar where she was riding a mechanical bull and filming for her new series.
Several people at the bar were shouting things to Bristol, and after falling off of the bull, she went up to Hanks and asked him if he was “a homosexual,” gesturing to his male companion and saying, “That’s a nice wife you’ve got there.”
After their verbal scuffle, Hanks issued an apology to Bristol (through his lawyer), admitting that he shouldn’t have taken his feelings about her mother, former governor of Alaska, Sarah Palin, out on her and wishing her “success with her television show, and much happiness in the future.”
According to court documents, now Hanks is fuming because he says Bristol defamed him in an episode of her show, suggesting that he’s the reason she moved back to Alaska. Hanks is also objecting to the network using his image in the series’ promos, with his attorney telling E! News that no one ever asked him to sign a release.
In addition to his defamation claims, Stephen Hanks is suing Bristol Palin for unspecified damages, invasion of right to privacy, intentional infliction of emotional distress and misappropriation of right of publicity.
