Emily Maynard, the current star of ABC‘s The Bachelorette, has found love on the show for a second time. Sources say Emily Maynard is engaged – again! Emily went on the reality show against the Hendricks‘ wishes. Sadly, now Emily and Ricki’s grandparents are not on speaking terms – with poor Ricki in the middle. Keep reading for the whole story.
“When Emily went on The Bachelor, they weren’t pleased, but they supported her,” a source tells Us Weekly. Emily went into Brad Womack‘s season a “sweet” girl. But, after the demise of that relationship and securing her spot as the next Bachelorette, the source claims, ”She knew she was the star, so she became a bit of a diva.”
After she decided to give it another try as the star of The Bachelorette, Ricki’s grandparents were furious with Emily. The source says of the Hendricks, “They don’t want their grandchild in the spotlight. They are private people.”
“They didn’t want Ricki uprooted,” the insider explains. “They also wanted Ricki kept out of the spotlight, not exploited.”
Emily insisted that her Bachelorette journey begin in her hometown of Charlotte, instead of LA, possibly as an attempt at compromise and keeping the peace. However, once the show started traveling, so did Ricki. Ricki has also been seen on camera in every episode. As a result of Emily’s decisions, the family is not on speaking terms.
Is reality TV worth creating family drama? What if there is a child involved?
The source for Us Weekly also suggests that the Hendrick family financially supports Emily and Ricki. Does that matter? Does that affect your opinion of Emily and her choice to be on reality TV against their wishes?
