Yes, it’s true! Arsenio Hall is making his return to the late-night line-up with a new show on CBS. NBC‘s Celebrity Apprentice winner is excited to be “going HOME to my old friends and colleagues and firing up our Night Thing,” but with the dog pound now older, will viewers still tune in to “get busy” with Arsenio?
That’s the gamble CBS is banking on.
“We’re excited to welcome Arsenio back to the family and partnering on his new, late-night syndicated talk show,” CBS Television Distribution President John Nogawski said in a statement.
“Arsenio had a substantial following with his previous late-night show, and that same 18-34 audience is now right in the middle of the late-night core audience of 35-54,” he continued. “Years ago, he transcended time periods and attracted a cross-over audience while bringing a fresh perspective to late night. That same need in the market exists today as when we originally launched. We are looking forward to the same success with Arsenio’s seasoned expertise and appeal in this genre.”
And how does Hall feel about returning to his old stompin’ grounds next year?
“I am happier than a mouse running around the Kraft cheese factory,” Arsenio tweeted to Celebrity Apprentice pal Clay Aiken.
What do you think RTVM: Are you excited about Arsenio Hall’s return to the late-night line-up? Will he still be able to stomp with the big dogs? Sound off in the Comments section below.
