The best reality show hosts are the ones associated with dance shows. Or at least, that’s what the big-name critics think. Why else would So You Think You Can Dance host Cat Deeley and Dancing with the Stars host Tom Bergeron tie for first place? Read on for the scoop!
Community and Homeland may have stolen the show at Monday night’s Critics’ Choice TV Awards, but there was still plenty of room left over for reality television. The Voice snagged the spot for best reality competition, but So You Think You Can Dance and Dancing with the Stars tied for an award almost as good: best host! Cat Deeley of So You Think You Can Dance and Tom Bergeron of Dancing with the Stars tied for the award, proving that, if nothing else, dance competitions do know how to pick excellent hosts! Tom Bergeron and Cat Deeley both know how to make contestants feel at ease, while adding plenty of lighthearted humor to the mix.
Winners of the Critics’ Choice TV Awards are chosen by the Broadcast Television Journalists Association. While this group clearly knows how to choose a good host (or two) the same cannot be said for the Emmys. Tom Bergeron has been busy campaign for Cat Deeley to win an Emmy for best host, but in truth, he is every bit as deserving of the award.
Do you think Tom Bergeron and Cat Deeley deserve the award for best host? And should this win be followed up by an Emmy at long last? Share your thoughts below!
