We know what you’re thinking: Wait…Duets was on tonight?! Yes, ABC did it to us again with yet another “special night and time,” thanks to the NBA Finals. So, what did you miss? Who was sent home? Who’s moving on to next week’s live shows? All the highlights of Duets‘ Movie Night after the jump.
It was Movie Night on Duets, with the superstars and their amateurs bringing us our favorite songs from some of the best movies of all time; or at least popular ones that were approved by the network’s legal department.
After some underwhelming performances and song choices (depending on who you ask), mom-to-be, Jennifer Nettles‘ contestants – J Rome and John Glosson – held a steady lead at the top of the chart, despite Bridget Carrington offering her best to date with Tina Turner‘s “What’s Love Got To Do With It.”
Still, she’s also heading into next week’s live show and safe from elimination.
Unfortunately for Kelly Clarkson, Jennifer, John, and Paul… Wait…who’s Paul? (We think she meant Robin.) Jennifer, John, and Robin aren’t impressed with either of her amateurs. But there’s good and bad news.
First the good.
The good news is that Paul…er– Robin agrees that if and when Jason Farol makes it to the live shows, he’s going to be a definite threat in the competition because he’s just so loveable. (Seriously, who doesn’t love that guy?)
The bad news: Either way, Kelly’s going into the live round with one less amateur. And no one wants to say good-bye; especially at this point in the competition.
After their last chance performances and a little encouragement from the mentors about the road ahead, it’s a tearful Jordan Meredith who’s sent home this week.
What did you think of tonight’s show? Do you think the right person was eliminated? Sound off in the Comments section below.
And for the record, the live show will air NEXT THURSDAY at 8|7c on ABC.
