Bristol Palin‘s latest reality TV venture Bristol Palin: Life’s A Tripp premiered Tuesday night. It’s safe to say most of you probably missed it. The dismal showing brought a mere 726,000 viewers to Lifetime. Even before the premiere, Bristol had regrets about the show. Too bad her gut didn’t tell her sooner that nobody cares. Keep reading for the rest of the embarrassing ratings news.
Bristol Palin: Life’s A Tripp found 726,000 total viewers but only 254,000 in the coveted “adults 18-49″ demographic. According to Yahoo TV, Life’s A Tripp didn’t even rank among the top 100 cable programs of the night for the 18-29 category. Dance Moms, airing just before Life’s A Tripp, brought 1.8 million viewers to Lifetime. Keeping the comparisons in the family, Sarah Palin’s Alaska premiered on TLC in 2010 to 4.96 million viewers.
The critics haven’t been too kind to Bristol Palin: Life’s A Tripp either. Hank Steuver of The Washington Post wrote, ”Even if you have a lasting grudge against all things Palin, there’s no payoff here. It’s a new low for anyone who makes the mistake of watching.”
The viewers don’t care. The critics aren’t impressed. Bristol’s legal team is exhausted.
Now what? Let’s hope Lifetime buys her a one-way ticket back to Alaska. If Bristol insists on being on TV, she should campaign for the all-stars season of Dancing with the Stars instead.
Alas, let’s not forget, you can catch Papa Palin on NBC‘s Stars Earn Stripes in August.
