CBS was obviously pretty peeved with ABC about the whole debacle surrounding The Glass House. So, what better way to get revenge than to announce a spoof of ABC’s hit show Dancing with the Stars? What hilarious twist did CBS give its new show? Keep reading to find out!
Now that everyone’s seen Dancing with the Stars, it’s time for a new take on the reality competition. CBS decided to take on that challenge when it staged a press release for a new DWTS spoof: Dancing on the Stars. Broadcast from the Hollywood Forever Cemetery, Dancing on the Stars will feature “moderately famous and sort of well-known people you almost recognize competing for big prizes by dancing on the graves of some of Hollywood’s most iconic and well-beloved stars of stage and screen.”
The anonymous CBS spokesperson continued the dig at ABC with the following statement: “Given the current creative and legal environment in the reality programming business, we’re sure nobody will have any problem with this title or our upcoming half-hour comedy for primetime, POSTMODERN FAMILY.”
It will be interesting to see how ABC responds to the news of CBS’ funny business. The channel could always come up with a few CBS spoofs of its own. 3 1/2 Women? The Big Bird Theory? Of course, none of these could compete with Dancing with the Stars, but it would be funny to see what ABC could come up with.
