Ah, there is never a dull moment in the life of the Kardashians. In an upcoming interview with Bethenny Frankel, Kris Jenner opened up about why she didn’t try to stop Keeping Up With the Kardashians star Kim Kardashian from having sex at 14. Yep, you read that right. Kris actually didn’t try to deter her then young teenage daughter from losing her V-card. Read on to find out more.
When asked about allowing her daughter Kim to have sex at 14, Kris said, “Kim came to me and…was very honest with me and said ‘Mommy I think I’m feeling…sexual…I’m thinking oh God, here we go.”
She also added, “You can try and talk your kids out of it…of course I had every…talk…and said this is what you should do. But, the truth is unless you lock your child in the closet and throw the key away, they’re going to do what they feel. I can’t be with her and shadow her every single second. So my philosophy has also been make sure your kids are healthy, well taken care of and educated.”
After Kris found out about Kim’s desire to have sex, she just took her to her gynecologist Paul Crane and said “She’s all yours. You can go in the office and have the little doctor patient talk. It was, like, her first time there and I said ‘You guys got to work this out. I don’t need to know as long as you got it under control, Paul Crane.’”
We can say all we want about Kris and her unconventional parenting style, but she was right when she said you can’t always prevent your kids from doing what they want to do. Instead of just ignoring the issue, she at least took Kim to get birth control to prevent her from getting pregnant.
Do you think Kris should have tried harder to stop Kim from having sex at 14? Or do you think she did the right thing by getting her on the pill?
